Lots of minerals driving this, with lemon/lime, nuttiness. Very spherical in the mouth. The acids are very soft, the lemon/lime more creamy than tart. Also ripe apple peal, more nuttiness. I enjoyed this quite a lot. 91-92
Oyster shells, saltwater, lemon. Palate adds some lemon zest. A bit edgy on the palate - has lots of acidity, but needs some time for it to integrate a bit, which I think it will. 88+
Lots of floral elements on the nose, cold cream. Medium full bodied. Creamy with a grippy acidity right on the finish. I'd give this a couple of years to integrate, but it is very nice. Peter Weygandt import.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet
Yellow flowers, cream, light oak on the nose. Medium body. Mineralls, butter cookie, lemon oil, and a nice nutty finish. Nice texture. This is drinking well but should hold on a while too if you like more age. 89-90
White pepper, dirt, cherry and cranberry on the nose. This is packing a lot of fruit on the palate with a tart cherry, dried cranberry, clove spices. I thought this showed much better out of a large flared rim pinot glass than in traditional balloon.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin
Nose of dirty cherry, fennel/anise. Cherry coated leather on the palate, coffee grounds finish which I enjoyed. Still has some sinewy muscularity to it - not assertive but definitely a lot of structure. This could actually improve a bit more for a couple of years; it certainly has improved over tasting a couple of years ago. Good in the Riedel Vinum Burg glass.
Lots of herbs and cherry on the nose and initial palate, but just a very abrupt ending, no real finish at all. Let this one loosen up a few years. Maybe we should have tried the Vinturi on it, but considerable time in glass didn't wake it up right now.
