Big, brambly nose of red berry fruit and spice. Medium bodied with medium acidity. Nice mix of blackberry and red raspberry fruit with good acid and a touch of tannin for structure. Well balanced. (my 1st, group's 5th)

Very bretty nose with dark purple fruit. Light to medium bodied with low to med acidity. Black cherry and mixed berry fruit, no tannin. A bit simple on the palate but drinking well. (my 6th, group's 3rd)

Anise, lots of vanilla and a bit of heat on the nose. Full bodied with medium acidity. Jammy black fruit, lots of vanilla and prominent tannins. This isn't really out of balance but is overripe and overoaked for my palate. Has the structure to age a lot longer. (my 9th, group's 1st... 9 1st place votes out of ~15 people)

Ripe black plum and pepper nose. Medium bodied with med acidity. Ripe raspberry fruit, white pepper and great spice notes. Fruit is not overripe and the acidity keeps everything fresh. Drinking really well now. (my 2nd, group's 8th)

Lemon and minerals on the nose. Medium bodied with medium+ acidity. A touch viscous with nice depth of ripe lemon and tart peach fruit, buoyed by great acidity. I thought this was a southern Rhone. Very nice.

Charred oak nose, vanilla coke, some red cherry buried deep down. Medium bodied with low to med acidity. Baked cherry, wood and vanilla coke. Guessed Pinot but the oak made it hard to be sure.
