  • 1968 Ridge Geyserville 89 Points

    USA, California, Sonoma County

Very light color, almost tawny. Pretty nose of tea, roses and a hint of dried cherry. Light bodied with medium acidity. Black tea, sandalwood and cranberry on the palate. On the decline but a graceful one. A wine I'd really like to spend more time with. (my 9th, group's 4th)

  • 1978 Ridge Late Picked Geyserville 91 Points

    USA, California, Sonoma County

Interesting and pretty nose of sweet cherry and cinnamon with a touch of v.a. Medium bodied with low to medium acidity. Youthful with deep cherry fruit. A bit porty. Clearly a late-picked or late-harvest, but not overly sweet or out of balance. (my 3rd, group's 1st)

  • 1977 Ridge Late Harvest Geyserville 89 Points

    USA, California, Sonoma County

Nose started volatile and spirity but calmed down to reveal sweet cherry fruit. Medium to full bodied with low to medium acidity. Sweet, ripe cherry and raspberry fruit, porty and slightly raisinated. Clearly a late-picked or late-harvest. An outlier in the lineup but still nice. (my 8th, group's 2nd)
