France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
Lots of elegant balance with an explosion of bright , especially dark fruits. The red fruits are sweet rather than tart. Cinnamon, vanilla (but natural, not artificial as from barrel). Another pop of clove.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos St. Denis Grand Cru
Vanilla up front. I love this. It is so feminine and pretty. This shouldn’t taste like great Chambolle, but… Amazing balance. All the fruits are floral.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos de la Roche Grand Cru
Stony minerality on the front end. Still the great balance of fruits but creamier on the end. Also the touch of vanilla, but the austere minerality is what sets it apart.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru
Lots of savory notes on this one. Diana says, “soy sauce.” WOW, that’s why she is who she is. Once again, so elegant, soft and creamy. She opened this to help us celebrate our 26eme anniversary.

Partial whole cluster but get no stemminess, just a little stronger. Still the plum and some tart cherry. Wonderful balance.

Geez I love 01s. Now the great fruit is balanced by soft tannins and a hint of seashell.
