Decanted one hour. Medium bodied. Fantastic depth, emerging complexity. Raspberry, black tea, herbs and spices. This has a great sense of power and concentration but also delivers finesse and elegance. Terrific wine with years ahead.

Dujac really nailed this vintage, powerful and seductive … à point. More masculine and rather less elegant than previous vintages. Stunningly beautiful floral aromatics enhanced by ripe dark cherries, plums and strawberries, earthy tones with red meat, sandalwood and Asian spices. Less ripe and more delineated than other GC 09s. Lush texture, silky and chewy tannins, enduring rich finish. I wish I had more bottles of this CSD! 97v

Just starting to take on some earthy development. There's a core of intense cherry and plum fruit and some pine needle too. With air you get a touch of beef stock and soy and it is rich, powerful and contained. It has a silky feel against the gums and is expansive and long.

Showed for 5 hours before serving. Still an absolutely young baby, probably a bit too early to enjoy. On the nose, modest floral and dark cherries sensation, vanilla, sandalwood, and soil, on the palate, it was rich and quite polished, I think the oak has not fully integrated yet, a relatively powerful red burg, but largely balanced for 2009 vintage, this wine shows good ageing potential
