My family aren't serious wine drinkers, so a lot of the bottles we opened weren't too exciting.

Beautifully elegant wine with lots of rich chenin fruit tones - peaches, pears and fresh apple. Great floral notes throughout too add a nice feminine touch to it. Drinking very well.

Fresh pears, peaches and vanilla are layered together on the nose. Its palate was really nice with lots of peaches and pears, vanilla bean, fresh herbs and a bit of an acidic twang to the finish.

Simplistic and tropical fruited.

Yummy bottle with great raspberry, florals, earth and spice notes. Noticed a small amount of drying tannins on the palate, but overall thought this was drinking very nicely. Worth mentioning that the pure, cool fruit on the palate was framed nicely by its acidity. Good stuff.

Dark and spicy, this had a lot of plum, cinnamon, and smoke. The palate was juicy and slightly warm. Lots of plum, raspberry and smokey vanilla notes. Not incredibly exciting.

Nice little wine. Had good dark fruit, smokey undertones and subtle earthy notes. While not overly complex, this had a lot of charm and at $15 a really nice value.

A straightforward Sangiovese-based wine. Had some brambliness underneath the mostly dark-fruited palate which I liked. Overall, a nice drink.

Juicy and inviting. Had nice pure fruit up front with a candied aspect to them - this was a real crowd pleaser on Thanksgiving, but wasn't complex or offering much other than red fruit.

From magnum. This was lithe and easy-going. Lots of floral notes, some cherry and subtle earth notes.

Medium-bodied claret that didn't have a ton of complexity going on, but did offer nice red fruit, dried tobacco and some pepper. Despite not really having a second gear, I thought this was a nice little wine.

Had a lot of fresh herbal notes with apple, pear and subtle peach. Palate was juicy and round with a honeyed pear aspect to its body that was nice but a bit flabby.

Very nice entry-level riesling. Fruits were tropical, rich and nuanced. Thought this had nice minerality and delivered a bit more than I had expected.

Only got a small taste. Lots of melon and lemon on the palate with good minerality. Fruit was juicy but balanced...not overly nuanced, but enjoyable.

Realized I'm a big fan of this. The nose was somewhat shy with some melon, fresh herbs, and lemon. Had a real sense of coolness on the palate with a mineral-driven spine, good dense lemon, pear and lime flavors and a nice flintiness on the finish. Great value.

A really interesting bottle of wine. First of all, this was popped and poured. The aromas of sweet cherry, hickory, roses and vanilla were beautifully composed and mostly elegant. With some air the aromas became a bit more earthy with distinct aromas of mushroom, underbrush and soil. The palate was airy and light fueled mostly by red fruits, dried rose petals and tobacco notes. This was great.

Juicy and tannic...this was a beast. The fruit was souped up with dense raspberry and plum notes all the while being somewhat cool. The palate had a good deal of mineral and spice to it...this was less Burgundian and more Cru Beaujolais.

Another good bottle. Lots of juicy raspberry and cherry fruit with a good earthy component to it. The minerality was really showing in this bottle and it was a nice accompaniment to some Chinese food.
