Ye Olde Rieslings: A stealthy imposter in a line-up of fabulous Rieslings. Very classic Huet, with golden raisin, oyster shell, orange blossom honey, and a light waxiness. Lightly sweet like a kabinett, but with a heftier spatlese or auslese density frame. Compared to the '10 le Mont sec last week, it's a touch less focused and also less woolly.

A friend's b-day tasting (Washington, D.C.): Creamy, whipped fruits on the nose with pineapple and lemon bars, chalk dust. The palate has focused acidity, but the fruit feels quite sweet (like canned peaches and pineapples), but in a good way -- just a bit odd. Plush texture, lots of salty, crushed shell vibes. Sweet but still balanced and vibrant.

Started off with a hint of sherry-like oxidation that quickly blew off to reveal a classically delicious dry vouvray.

Has this electric green character on the nose. And then just a kiss of sweetness across the palate, but fruit sweetness to it.

This bottle lacked the depth and detail of the last one (se note below) but still very jummy!
