Maturing color; a bit earthy and with fine tertial aromas of forest floor and leather; good depth in the fruit, fresh finish, some complexity, rounded. A fine bottle.

Dark, tight with very good underlying dark berry fruit, some spice. Lots of tannins. Will develop, rating for now. Drink in 10-30 years.

Sweet blueberry fruit, sweet and sour; Warm and ark fruit in the mouth, shortish, sweet middle palate.

Deep fruit; chewy dark cherry fruit, but still some structure and grip, mature and spicy, still some tannins left, moderate+ length. Alas, my last bottle – but a point now.

Clean dark fruit, lots of tannin, very structured, develops in the glass, some tobacco after a while. Emerging complexity. Bright future. A steal at current prices.

Quite closed, structured. Some promise, but not at the 04 level.

Definite mature color – almost no read left; a hint of bullion on the nose, but also mixed with fruit residue; most balanced and charming, fresh, decent complexity. After a while sweet mocca emerges. A good bottle, but not spectacular.

An odd bottle. Very pale, thin fruit, clearly old bot not oxidized. Some questions about its authenticity were raised. Given its unquestionable provenance it was most likely just an off bottle.

A bit tired, thin, on a slippery slope towards oxidation.

Some depth, a curious smell that I never managed to identify – not unpleasant, fine acidity, long and fresh. A very pleasant surprise.

Dark colored; Deep fruit, complex nose; good length, some sweetness and spice, dark cherry fruit, structured.

Spicy, deep and dark fruit, minerals and smoke, some acidity and sweetness, chewy. Fine bottle (their first?), albeit a little short.

Deep and intriguing fruit, some mint; long, very good grip and fine tannins. A wine with some personality.

Sweet and rounded, deep fruit, good length, tannins still very much present, but the fruit is mature. A certain sweetness/warmness.

A little closed in the beginning, Became more furry and with some complexity. Surprising quality in this vintage.

Tight, lots of fruit, some raw meat/animal notes. Structured – a bright future.

Blind. Very pale, some brett/cellar notes, long and fresh, some tannins, but the fruit is thin. Not very inspiring.

Meaty, some smoke, dark berry fruit; violent tannins and acidity, same goes with the fruit. Some astringency as for the tannins, but bearable and will likely integrate. Much of everything, but a good wine.

Not very descriptive – got lost in the company of stronger vintages.

Violent in every way – acidity, tannins, fruit. Some depth, but dry tannins. Rather inelegant. Trying too much.

Quite pale, wonderful tertiary aromas, smooth, some complexity, not very long.

Wonderful balance, fine acidity and fruit. Dark and sweet chewy fruit, but still some coolness. Surprising for the vintage.

Violent entry. Dark fruit, boysenberries, shortish, alcohol in the finish, tannic, warm. Lacks complexity.

Good balance between acidity, fruit and tannins, come emerging complexity. The fruit is a bit warm.

Wonderful spicy fruit, liquorish, oriental spices, mint. Very long and very smooth, clean fruit, chocolate and raising. A wonderful bottle to end the evening with.

2003 Nyetimber Blanc de Blancs 90 Points
United Kingdom, England, Sussex, West Sussex
Blind. A curious mix between a structured finish, good grip, and a certain sweetness in the fruit and perhaps high dosage. Very mineral driven. High acidity. Guessed Nyetimber blanc de blanc, but it was just a very lucky shot.

1964 Château Pape Clément 88 Points
France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan
To mark the election of the new Pope. Some raisin, smooth and rounded, some depth, earthy, tannins all gone. The fruit is, however, a bid ‘dead’. On its way down. Only a minority was in Bordeaux.
