France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
From magnum. Open approx one hour before serving, this started with forward fruit and spice driven aromas, but a slightly short, musty sense on palate. Quickly improved with 15 minutes in glass, coming across as more fresh, while also putting on weight. With time, this came across as long and lean, with good density and nuance, seemingly Chevalier in style for me. I preferred this vs the Bouchard 2002 Chevalier also served, while some others disagreed.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru
Lush, ripe and very forward apple and peach. Big flavors as well on palate with ok balance, but more of an overall fat and lush character that would make me think Batard-Montrachet or Puligny Pucelles if served blind. I slightly preferred the Amiot 2002 Puligny "Demoiselles" also served, with some others liked this wine more.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
Open and decanted approx 12 hours before serving, which served this wine very well. Very alluring combination of red and black fruit with very good Asian spice hints. Very similar on palate with obvious Grand Cru density and power, but without the overt ripeness of too many 2006s. If served blind, I would have thought from Echezeaux. Very impressive .
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Romanée St. Vivant Grand Cru
Popped and poured. Sensational red fruit aromas with even-more-sensational baking spice. Lush and forward flavors to start, with sneaky structure middle to finish. Very impressive, best I can ever recall for this wine. Even better than a DRC 2000 Richebourg from a few week ago.

Popped and poured. Perhaps I just couldn't get past a very musty, earthy start that didn't come across as pristine to me, possibly Bretty. Others found it more interesting. If I were to open a bottle, I'd certainly give this more time open before serving.
Popped and poured. Unfortunately I had this poured into a glass with soap residue, so just had a small pour from the end of the bottle. Still came across as elegant and ripe with lots of mature black fruit in very good balance with slowly cooked mushrooms. Perhaps better a decade or two ago, but still very charming and pleasurable tonight.
Similar to another bottle from a few months back, this is showing great and intense dried apricot with lots of layers of flavors. Perhaps not the longest young Sauternes, but impressive concentration.
From 375 ml bottle. Sensational nutty aromas with lots of fig and smoky notes. Moderately sweet with great intensity and a texturally charming weightlessness. Slightly better than I recall from when last tried 6-8 years ago, and I expect this will remain wonderful for decades to come.
