France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
Lush, ripe apple and pear aromas with some sweet baking spice. Similar on palate with some peach as well and good concentration. Forward and slightly advanced, probably at its peak now. Perhaps the best I recall from this wine. Leflaive 2004s have often been good or great, but also often inconsistent.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru
I bought this bottle last year from a cellar where it had been since release. So it's been largely unmoved in Chicago for 20+ years. Mature red cherry aromas to start, followed by the same plus black cherry flavors. Firm, ripe and meaty character was very 1990 and very Gevrey to me. Long finish.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru
Mostly red red fruit balanced with equal amount of earthy flavors and aromas. Modest spice. Simple but charming, showing 1993 structure only near finish.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Echezeaux Grand Cru
A North Berkeley bottle. Open the day before, half finished, then recorked and brought as a bonus wine tonight. Lots of black fruit with lots of oak. Still fresh, exuberant and enjoyable, if not particularly showing terroir.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin
Starts with very fresh, dense black fruit aromas, liqueur hints and a bit of protruding new oak. Similar flavors, but oak comes into better harmony from middle to finish. Long, well textured and energetic finish. Very good now.

1995 Daniel Bocquenet Echezeaux Flawed
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Echezeaux Grand Cru
Corked. Would have been great to try after its 1993 counterpart.
