I've had a few flawed Mortet bottles but this one was outstanding. Fruit was beautiful without any trace of minerally forest floor must that dominates many. Has aged elegantly and drinking perfectly right now.

Casual Burg Dinner with Friends (The Bristol - Chicago IL): Starts with very fresh, dense black fruit aromas, liqueur hints and a bit of protruding new oak. Similar flavors, but oak comes into better harmony from middle to finish. Long, well textured and energetic finish. Very good now.

We didn't have time to decant this so pop and poured. Really savory and meaty, the fruit was very well hidden but just about traceable in the black fruit spectrum, there was a top note of smokey bonfire. Tasty and with a lot of character, not a classic gevrey

This needed about 2 hours in the decanter to open. Quite rustic and sauvage in nature with abundant earth and sous bois. The firm acidic core dominates the flavor profile leaving the remaining red cherry fruit subdued in the backround. Quite enjoyable today, but for my tastes its ready to drink up.

Very sauvage nose with wet, loamy underbrush, game and some tarry notes. The palate is very masculine and rustic with brooding dark fruit, some sour cherry, deep, rich sous bois and earth, some tar and fine chalky tannins. The finish is just abit on the short side, but quite nice for a village level burgundy. This is well made and drinking beautifully today. Quite an excellent bottle of wine if you like this style, which I do. Needed about 1 to 1 1/2 hours of air.
