Tasted blind, flight 1, 1st of 3 wines.
Dark ruby, it has a developed nose, medicinal, herbaceous, spice, mint and hints of vanilla. Smooth and light bodied, with touch of elegant. Slight green notes and lacking substance on mid-palate. Minty finish with soft and fine tannins.

Tasted blind, flight 1, 2nd of 3 wines.
Initial nose of leather and medicinal. After an hour the nose open up with blackberries, blue fruits and plenty of coffee notes. Palate developed nicely with sweet fruits, leather and roast coffee. Richly palate but not as dense as what I thought. Long lingering finish.

Tasted blind, flight 1, last of 3 wines.
Nice complex nose of blackberries, ripe blue fruits, chocolate, coffee and white papper.
Super ripe fruits on palate, along with blueberries, blackberries, fruits cake, vanilla and roasted coffee. Smooth and still fruits driven, rich fruits mouth-feel but not overdone. Very good balance with fresh acidity backbone. Long and silky finish. Good QPR. 91+
My favourite wine of this flight and it shares the group's favourite with 2005 Hewitson Private Cellar.

Tasted blind, flight 2, 1st of 3 wines.
Herbal nose along with blackcurrant and coke. Smooth palate, with sweet blackcurrant, forest floor and fresh acidity. Still young, long chocolaty finish with chewy tannins. 90+
I was quite surprised when the label unveiled, as this is their entry level label but hold very well.

Tasted blind, flight 2, 2nd of 3 wines.
Lots of leather on the nose, along with sweet fruits, herbal and cola undertones. Smooth and good acidity, with leathery fruits dominant the palate with some sweet fruits underneath. Medium soft finish. Some like this for its elegant and complexity but too much animal and leather for my palate.

Old world style, developed nicely but keep improving with air. The nose is fresh, showing red fruits, vanilla oak and hints of eucalyptus. Smooth and elegant, with red fruits, blackcurrant and eucalyptus. Good and structured mid-palate leading into a long finish. 91+
My favourite wine of this flight and voted #1 by the group too.

Tasted blind, flight 3, 2nd of 3 wines.
Very nice chocolate nose, along with blackberries and sweet fruits. Palate still showing wondering freshness although the apperance and nose suggest this should be more than 10yrs. Powerful mid-palate, dark plums, blackberries, fruits cake and roast coffee. Long and fine persistent finish.
My favourite wine of this flight and I enjoyed it very much. Lovely. Very impressed when the label unveiled because this is the first time I drink wine from this producer.

Tasted blind, flight 4, 1st of 4 wines.
Nice explosive and primary nose of blackberries and toasted vanilla oak. Deep and powerful entry with dark plums and chocolate. Solid mid-palate, dense and opulent. Long persistent finish with fine tannins.
I was not surprised when the label unveiled and many would have expected this to be a Command. Hugely convincing, not only my favourite for this flight but it is also my WOTN and same for the group.

Tasted blind, flight 4, 2nd of 4 wines.
Barnyard, animal and leather dominant nose, but with a slight perfume edge at the end. Soft and supple with similar bretty characteristic on palate. Finishes well with almost dissolved tannins.
It shows similar notes compare to my last tasting 2 years ago. And it slowly grow on me after a few sips.

Tasted blind, flight 4, last of 4 wines.
Finally come to the last wine of the tasting and it took advantage of having more time to breath. Showing very well this time. Nose of blackberries and oak, still fruity and elegant. Smooth and silky palate, good acidity and concentration. Finishes long. Better than my last tasting with some good substance. Second time I had a head to head same vintage of Command vs. Dead Arm and clearly Command has the upper hand again this round.

2008 Camel Valley Pinot Noir Brut 89 Points
United Kingdom, England, South West, Cornwall
Pale straw in the glass without lots of energetic beads. Light and refreshing on the palate with racy acidity, showing plenty of primary fruits, red berries. Very different from a Champagne, without the weight and complexity, but still not bad as an aperitif, simple.

2011 Carrick Chardonnay Cairnmuir Terraces EBM 90 Points
New Zealand, South Island, Otago, Central Otago
Nice butterly mouthfeel, still young and very prominent oaky palate which is the results of extended barrel maturation of 18 months (extra 6 months) but the rich fruits nicely carry the weight from mid-palate to finish. Although it tend to be too oaky now but I enjoy this wine. Give it 3 more years to let the oak better integrate with fruits.
