Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino
See through light crimson core with orange at rim; dried red fruit, rose, salami, cinnamon, nutty; spicy, sharp red fruit, silky tannin, youthful; delicious.
Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino
Darker core with bricking rim; fennel, deep fruit, dried fruit, brown sugar; deep and rich Italian, some age, dark, raisin, tobacco; good but atypical of a wine this young- has to be bottle variation.
Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino
Dark crimson core with orange brick rim; structured, red fruit, dried, cherry, cedar, floral; spicy, well built, cinnamon, dried red fruit, licorice, raisin, tannin, rose, cedar; good but still young.
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Dark core with lighter dull violet rim; leather, game, funky, Brett, horsey, dark wild berry, slight vegetal note, black pepper; rich palate, slight tinny character, dark wild berry, horsey, black pepper, garrigue, vegetal; very characteristic- nailed it, even called where it was purchased.
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Dull garnet with good clarity, lighter rim; elegant and attractive nose, framboise, ripe cherry, complex though lighter, restrained ripeness, marzipan, could smell this for days; classic framboise, herbs, sweet fruit though not overripe; really well done for this vintage, can go quite a bit longer, delicious.
See through crimson with pale orange rim; Slavonian oak, mint, dill, spicy cherry, stewed a bit; soft texture, licorice, youthful, softer tannin, noble; tasty.
See through brighter crimson, small rim; classic young Nebbiolo, great balance, sweet tart cherry, slight strawberry, fresh, beautiful nose; young, softer tannin initially- more with air, noble, very good balance; nailed it.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Côte de Nuits Villages
Dull see through core; sour dark cherry, tart, Brett, light and floral, younger, lighter, limestone; fine palate, less Brett character, soft sweet tart red cherry, ripe strawberry; harder to place but I called NSG.
