This was a rock star night for many of us--I hope Laurence can trek out to Seattle soon--or perhaps us to her! Eric posted an earlier rundown of food and his notes; for posterity, here are mine!
2005 Domaine du Pégau Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Réservée 97 Points
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Oh my goodness! Pulled from foudre and FedExed to Seattle for the event.
This is just such killer juice! I know I will want a case minimum of this wine: Just a monster--I gave it a provisional score of 96-98, undoubtably, RMP will be in a similar range if the wine continues to develop. Dark, viscous with scents of game and garrique. A wine with amazing potential and a easy to drink even at this young stage. I would also mention that the finish and midpalate has a nice spicy element.
Here are my notes on 2006:
Also from foudre:
Provisional score of 92-94pts: a massive plummy juice bomb. Very reticent nose. I believe it will develop and strut its stuff in a couple years.

Laurence commented that this was her favorite (she compared it to the 01 Laurence). Great flavor and balance--interestingly, she added all her blanc to the 04 Reservee.

Wow! What a rich bottle; a tremendous wine with depth and a fragrance of soy and herbs. Just a steller wine--easily the WOTN.
