Floral and lemon, some orange and toast. Decent palate definition, with a little broadness around the edges but it does focus back in nicely toward the finish.
Strawberry, earth, orange peel and lead pencil. Nice savoury fruit character on the palate, it is composed and surprisingly very approachable with some plushness coming alongside the savoury notes. Good structure and has a different style to the BdB which I guess is what you want.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Oliver, violet, spice, sea spray, banana and mealy aromas. In good condition, still youthful - I like the fullness that the palate has, it is rich but not at all heavy. Good length and the complexity will come with time.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru
Very very pretty nose - heady roses, graphite, cherry, spice and raspberry. The palate is pure and lovely, with a line of spice that gives it an extra element. Good length and drive. Plenty of ageing potential.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru
Blind. Cinnamon and raspberry, nutmeg, rhubarb and a bit of a cola note to it. The palate is rather powerful on the fruit side and it does have some spice to it. Not a classic style but I still enjoyed it.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Autumn leaves, spice, apple, olive and graphite. Palate has both good grip from a tannic frame and also good acidity to go along with the red fruit profile. This bottle was drinking well with some potential still to improve.
Truffle, earth and a touch medicinal. Palate has the fruit dropping away, there is some interest there and the remnants of a good wine, but not near to the quality of a previous bottle from the same source. Around 85 if rated.
Stalks, smoked meat, cherry, blackcurrant and olive aromas. The palate is very good, there is balance and real detail to the fruit, it is restrained in nature and gives you plenty of opportunity to look at each element of it. Good texture and style.
Tar, raisin, dark florals, cherry and char. Palate is resolving beautifully, the balance remains excellent and there is a pure fruit presence that is still delivered. Long and fine. =
Tar, ashphalt, truffle and earth. Palate shows more tannin than the 1993 it was next to, and yet it handles them perfectly with some weighty fruit and an element of real class. In the zone for drinking from now through to the next 5+ years.
Tar, graphite, smoke and ash. The palate is all structure and there is not a whole lot of pleasure to it right now - it needs time and will surely show as well as the 1993 and 1997 it was next to, but for the time being, let it rest.
Grass, smoke, peppery meat, chocolate, raisin and mint - complex and interesting. The palate is superb, there is some roundness to the fruit that coats the mouth and yet somehow it feels light and airy. I don't understand how it has such texture and depth while still being so delicate. Fantastic!

Raspberry, cherry, rhubarb and spice. Still extremely fresh on the palate, there is a fullness to the fruit that is very impressive. At 10 years it is still in it's primary phase, give it time to show what it has!
Pineapple, spice, orange, slate and floral notes. Pure and delicate on the palate, there is a refinement to it, where all the pieces slot in perfectly and work together to give it structure, balance and delicious fruit. A wine that is extremely pleasant to drink whenever you might encounter it.
