City Winery - Chicago IL
Tasted Thursday, September 24, 2015 by Burgundy Al with 517 views
First La Paulée event in Chicago with a great tasting focusing on entry level white and red Burgundy. I was very pleased that attendance was so good, but it made the tasting more crowded than I'd prefer. I tasted approximately half the wines available and didn't write legible notes on all. These notes are listed in the sequence they are listed in the tasting book, not in the order tasted.
2013 Vincent Dauvissat (René & Vincent) Chablis
France, Burgundy, Chablis
Tasting, brief note. Starts lush and slightly tropical. finishes with more lemon and lemon curd and more energy. Good for its level.

2012 Domaine Séguinot-Bordet Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume
France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru
Tasting, brief note. Also starts very fat and ripe, then lemon custard and baked apple come through middle to finish. A very good value for near-term pleasure, but shy on the acidity and minerality I'd like for Chablis 1er.
