Flight 1 (1 Note)

  • 2014 Egge gård One 87 Points

    Norway, Drammen, Lier

Norwegian made sparkling wine from the grape Solaris sourced at Eggs Gård in Lier, Norway. The wine is made with the same method as Champagne.
The wine is very primery fruit forward with blackcurrant and cooked redcurrant as dominated elements. Lacking a bit of fruit concentration on the palate making the wine too perky. Biting a lemon is what comes to mind when tasting this wine.

Flight 2 (2 Notes)

  • 1986 Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 89 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac

The Pichon Lalande 1986 and 1989 where tasted up against each other. Two great vintages from the 80´s where the 1986 is suppose to be best one. From our tasting the 1986 had quite youthful colour, deep and ruby. Tertery aromas on the nose of light swamp, wet EUR pallet and liquorice. Tart concentration on the palate with more red fruit and elegance. The wine falls a bit short to expectations. And the wine looses even more touch after 1 - 1.5 hours in the decanter.

  • 1989 Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 92 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac

Ruby colour but lighter than the 1986. This was more classic Bordeaux. Good amount of complex tertiary aromas. More focused. Damped cellar, leather, decomposed wood and hints of bell peppers. Dark and red cool fruit on the palate with good mouth feeling and depth. Liquorice and lavender with good length.

  • 2005 Château Montrose 94 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Estèphe

Dark ruby, very deep colour. Lots of dark fruit on the nose, espresso beans, ink, ripe blackberry and cassis. This wine is so powerful on the palate with lots of concentration and density. It is hard to believe this wine has become 11 years already and I would say you at least have to wait another 5 for its drinking window to open. Letting it bread for three and a half hours wasn’t enough. But still, so much potential.

  • 1987 Château d'Yquem 94 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes

Golden colour with long legs. Lovely aromas of fruit punch, diesel and ship yard. Deep medium sweet concentrated palate of caramelised apple, petroleum flavours, vanilla and botrytis. Long and delicious finish. Very fine balanced acidity.
