Orange peel, graphite and light herbs. Quite rich on the palate, I feel that the alcohol sticks out a little bit, however there is good texture and acidity, with some spark that lifts the wine nicely. If the alcohol settles over the next year or two this should drink nicely.
14% alcohol. Lime, licorice, mandarin and a touch of honey. Rounded mouthfeel, with a mineral streak that run nicely through the length and does a good job of tempering the richness. Pretty good, it is well made, but a little boring when considered as a whole.
11.5% alcohol. Chalk, lemon, white florals and pineapple. Fine line on the palate, good acidity and some decent texture. Lithe and mineral wine, with medium length. It could do with a little more depth and interest, I like it but certainly don't love it - still a decent result from a tricky vintage.
Cherry, savoury earth, raspberry and plum. Plenty of red fruit on the palate, with more of that savoury element as well as a nice little tart element. Good acidity, clean but also spicy and having interest. Good stuff.
Cloudy colour with faded edges. Strawberry, rhubarb, charcoal, tar and funky dirt. Spicy on the palate, however the fruit feels quite dilute and seriously lacks impact. Disappointing.
Bright edges. Cherry, some leaf and redcurrant - a little hard to get much out of the nose. The palate is a little more expressive, with a red cherry streak and good acid line lifting the sweeter fruit. 87 for the nose, 89 for the palate.
Out of magnum. Blackcurrant/cassis, kirsch and raspberry, feels like there is a fair bit of DMS showing through here. Ripe on the palate, but has good flow. Medium length. Will appeal to some more than others.
