Rich and forward with plenty of mature orchard fruit and toasted rye bread. Big and forward to start, but even better after open an hour+. I recall enjoying this more when younger, but the power and density tonight is noteworthy. Note, I bought these bottles shortly after release.
Very musty start and nowhere near the level of the previous three bottles I have had the opportunity to enjoy. Great concentration, but perhaps slightly corked?!?
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru
Tasted single+ blind in flight. Rich and very nicely concentrated black berry aromas and flavors, persistent start-to-finish. Without doubt the star of the flight. Wonderful now with plenty of upside.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos de la Roche Grand Cru
Served single+ blind in flight. Lighter style with good combination of red and black fruit. Subtle spice. Moderate concentration. I never would have thought Grand Cru, but still very enjoyable.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Served single+ blind in flight. Black fruit, meaty notes, good concentration but moderate finesse. Good+ now with upside from here, but frankly not worth Rousseau market prices.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin Grand Cru
Single blind in flight. Easily the best aromas of the flight and probably the best overall performance right now! Really - Chambertin! Seemingly perfumed start with an array black berries and lots of roasted meat. Perfectly integrated, not a hair out of place here. Very long, very complex. Easily my favorite of the flight for now, which made me think it CSJ, given its youth. Damn fool!
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru
Single blind in flight. Charming to start, then even more charming a few hours later. Seemingly the most accessible of the flight, and the lightest colored as well, this also kept hinting at spice and roasted meat. I correctly identified this one wine correctly in the flight.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Tasted single blind in flight. Intense concentration made me think this the Chambertin, even though it was the least complex. Still superbly tasty, with upside for a decade+.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru
Popped-decanted-and-poured. Floral and spice driven start with red berries. Palate was far less accessible to start, then red fruit and savory spice ever-so-slowly emerged. Finishes all about elegance and perfect zen. Very interesting to start, then very enjoyable an hour later, easily showing 93-94 point potential.

1990 Taittinger Champagne Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut 91 Points
France, Champagne
Very good concentration and richness. This is a Champagne with trademark bready character, but slightly more of that than I prefer.
