Tasted blind. Fresh and floral nose, spices, red meat, tight and youthful, even if there's some ripeness and age, liquorice, good length, hint of cream, a bit coarse.

Tasted blind. There is a slight unevenness on the nose, crisp and fresh, Cabernet character and freshness, ripe and fuller than the previous wine, lovely length.

Tasted blind. Nicely saturated colour, lovely complexity and depth on the nose, fresh and polished, the tannins are grippy but ripe and covered in flesh, good stuffing of ripe Merlot fruit, combines warmth and elegance. A blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc.

Tasted blind. Floral and spicy, lifted, good depth, velvety, ripe tannins, crushed red berries, well-integrated low-toast oak, concentrated and elegant, cool minerality at its core, long. Bravo! A blend of 81% Merlot and 19% Cabernet Franc.

Tasted blind. Ripe but fresh, silky and seamless, liquorice, floral lift, energetic, good length. Solid, clearly a northern Médoc.

Tasted blind. Stinky nose clears up quickly, warmth and elegance, warm red bricks, has freshness and stature, subtlety and wonderful finesse, excellent length. Energetic, seamless.

Interesting wine, good tension between tropical fruit and box tree notes, very expressive but not too antipodean, fresh but ripe and even a bit creamy, cool and mineral, ever so slightly light on the finish.

Double magnum. Lovely cool 1988-character, classic claret nose, fresh and elegant, medium weight, gentle and with good ripe fruit, lovely balance and harmony, spice, hint of milk chocolate, good length. Stylish and charming, very classical.

Deep and rich and oaky, barley sugar, big and fat and full, tropical fruit and honey, intense and long but lacks elegance - even in this stellar vintage.

A perfectly matured and complex wine, apricot, spices, peach and honey, rich and concentrated, sweet pineapple, caramel and nuts, medium weight, fresh and lively, excellent resonance and length.

Upper shoulder level. Full amber-golden colour, but certainly not deep for a Rieussec of this age. Deep and rich and structured, hint of nuts but fresh and still lively, Alpine herbs, powerful, honeyed, sève, apricot, concentrated and long. Fully mature of course, but with decades ahead of it.

France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru
Tasted blind. Youthful appearance, light and easy, slightly drying and thin on the finish, vegetal, somewhat underripe, length is quite okay. Tasting blind, I thought it was a 2013.
