2009 Château Giscours
France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux
Tasted blind. Anise, spice, and wood to start. Medium-plus weight, lots of red cherry and cassis fruit, spice, and some tart bitterness on the mid-palate. Some green/herbal notes on the finish.

2009 Château d'Issan
France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux
Tasted blind. Bright cherry, leather and warm baking spice on the nose. Medium-plus weight; red and black fruit, softly textured with nice fruit and complexity. Medium acidity, and big tannin.

2009 Château Talbot
France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Julien
Tasted blind. Nose of spice and black fruit. Beautiful body, rich and plush with violet, cassis, and dark cherry fruit. Finishes with soft, fine tannins and great length.

2010 Château Gruaud Larose
France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Julien
Tasted blind. Brett, spice, funk, smoke. Complex nose. Dark black fruit and spice on the powerful body. Dry finish, with elevated acidity. Woody, firm tannins.
