Served alongside the 2007 Clos des Hospices. Powerful throughout with very bright and fresh green and yellow apple aromas and flavors. Very good weight, very good length. At a great place now. Both bottles purchased upon release and well stored since.
Served alongside the 2007 Clos. This wine was riper and more powerful, but slightly less elegant. Lots of apple character here as well. Both bottles purchased upon release and well stored since.
Popped and poured, then enjoyed over the next 2+ hours. Bright red berries and cherries start-to-finish with wonderful balance and length for this level. At its best with 20-30 minutes of air, this started getting shorter after 2 hours in glass.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Open just 15 minutes before serving, then enjoyed over the next 2+ hours. Lots of red berry aromas and flavors with lots of power to start. That power transforming into great intensity and richness after an hour in glass. Upside from here, so I will hold my 2 remaining bottles for at least 5 more years.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru
Open an hour before serving, then enjoyed over the next hour+. Lots of black cherry, black berries and roasted meat that started off slightly firm and backward. This also really opened and and got fleshier and showier with more time in glass. Very fun by the end of the evening.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru
Open an hour before serving, then enjoyed over the next hour+. Fully mature ripe red cherry and berry throughout with lots of spice and a hint+ of slowly cooked mushrooms. Incredibly alluring aromas, with flavors that were almost able to match. Didn't fade for the hour+ in glass.
