Another short Afternoon with some New World Wines, Vol. 2018

As I am still not an expert for New World Wines these are my thoughts while sipping a glass of them today.

Most of them are lacking some elegance in my opinion.

All bottles are freshly opened, so pnp!

• 2015 Prisoner Wine Company Blindfold

  USA, California

  One glass, brief note, fullbodied white, too soft, call it silky maybe, high ABV 14,5%, some vanilla and sweet yellow fruit, for me an alcoholic candy bottling, not for me

• 2015 Clos Henri Sauvignon Blanc

  New Zealand, South Island, Marlborough

  one glass, brief note: has to not changed to the better, cat pee on the nose, gooseberry, all that a little sweet, fullbodied, tasty, but today lacking the freshness, **- ?

• 2015 Rustenberg Chardonnay Five Soldiers

  One glass, brief note: soft, maybe call it velvety, enormously barrel driven, full of vanilla, adstringent tannin, not for me

  One glass, brief note: tight and with enormous young ripe tannin, fullbodied with a high ABV of 15%, brambleberry, cassis, ending fresh long, *(**-****?), 90+ potential

  USA, California

  One glass, brief note: a very warm charming wine, yummi vanilla, a crowd pleaser, but the way too sweet sticky fruit for is not for me, an oversea wine which divides! *-**- (?), 83 me, for others maybe 90+?

• 2016 Orin Swift Abstract

  USA, California

  One glass, brief note: spicy,spicy, spicy, dense and enormously fullbodied, 15,5% ABV, reminds me a little about a C9dP, but the best ones of these are fresh, this one is packed with sweet fruit though, too much of everything, me *-**-?, the crowd maybe ***?

  One glass, brief note: a perfect beaf red, as always Malbec from Argentina is crying for a tiny T-bone! Very well structured tannin, long, **(* +?), around 90
