Still quite youthful, new oak signature still pronounced but doesn’t become cumbersome, good freshness, creamier texture, roses, menthol, cedar, light mahogany; very good.
Pale rose ruby; lovely nose, lacey candied rose, strawberry and soft cherry, young, balanced, fresh, elegant and refined, should put on some more weight but delicious and Burgundian now.
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Somewhat off putting nose that shows a funky somewhat volatile seaweed note along with peanut shells, roasted red and black fruit, ripe, figs, raspberries, brighter and fresher on palate, was thinking a hotter riper year but structure was a touch lighter for this beefier bottling and fruit showed more poise than nose suggested.
Dull plum some clarity, sediment; nose is a mix of tobacco, red and black currants, cedar, wilted rose, dock, roasted herbs, wet earth, and a slight mushroom note; palate shows a rich wine, full bodied with slightly lower acid than Sangiovese would be, nice mix of Bordeaux complexity while being distinctly Tuscan, some grip, oak polish, at a good point while being able to go further.
Ruby crimson; distinct sulphuric smoky brimstone note, roses, cool strawberry and cherry; soft on the palate, nice flavors, cool climate flavors but lacking tension and drive to make this great.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin
Bright and fresh, floral, sour cherry, not expecting this to be 2009, seems like it has come together nicely but finish is a bit short, very good though.
Everyone was on Chardonnay based on the amount of oak, but I thought the green fruit and grass came through, more melon, very waxy and opulent, not for the faint of heart, I have to admit that I liked it in the 1oz pour that I had though probably not much more.

Dark color; dark fruit, oak polish, lots of young juicy black fruit concealing some burly tannin and slightly lower acid underneath.

2008 Renato Ratti Barolo Marcenasco
Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo
Delicious, showing some age, classically modern style, still some grain to tannin suggests more in the tank to be cellared longer.

Wow, really blowing luxurious Bordeaux notes, nutty oak, dark chocolate, tobacco, wet earth, dark fruit; fat and rich palate, some really serious stuff.

This bottle was unfortunately past, sherry and overtly fat and rich, sloppy.

1995 Fattoria di Fèlsina Berardenga Chianti Classico Riserva Flawed
Italy, Tuscany, Chianti, Chianti Classico DOCG
Aged, lots of mushroom, soy, wet earth, cedar, lots of aged character but a thread of cork taint nullified any pleasure the wine had.

A weird showing for this wine, peanut shells and off flavors galore, definitely some VA but never thought it was corked.
