2017 Gunderloch Riesling "Als wär's ein Stück von mir"

lime, mineral, slight sulphur, a little green apple and peach. Its juicy, fleshy, fresh though the fruit is a little muted but this is very nice, carries medium plus length.

Concentrated citrus, lime, sulphur, a little kerosene as well Juicy to the point of sharpness on the palate, bone dry, medium length. Hmm

Spice, bacon fat, a little warm peach with kumquat. In the mouth it's juicy, savoury, bone dry, a little back fat, lacks a little weight. Meh.

Earthy, savoury in fact, with herbaceous notes and green fruit. Very grapefruit on the palate, juicy, savoury with a quite creamy mouthfeel. Hmm.

2009 Koehler-Ruprecht Kallstadter Saumagen Riesling Auslese trocken "R"

Medium minus intensity earthy aromas, savoury notes, very slight kerosene. Softly juicy; wonderful acid line, really lovely mouthfeel persists long. More bout structure than fruit but lovely.

Initially sulphur over pretty peach and citrus. A little spritzy mouthfeel lends dryness to the slightly green acidity. Time?

Pear and pear skin, a little green almond, savoury, slightly bitter pear skin and pear with a touch of crushed almond. Fresh. Nice.

A slightly riper version of the Pinot Blanc - some melon joins the pear and a little creamy richness underpins this. In the mouth though it's bitter, a little flabby and alcoholically warm to the detriment of the other characteristics. Meh

Butter, cream, peach, toast, a little bonfire note (?). In the mouth it's buttery, rich, young, fleshy, peachy with a little tannic burr to lend some weight to the mid palate. Yum

Rich, ripe, creamy, buttery, a little toasty peach. More of the same in the mouth. Quite fleshy and juicy but balanced, the structure supported by a touch of oaky tannic burr. Nice

2017 G.D. Vajra Langhe Nebbiolo

slight cherry, plums, pot pourri and some alcohol spice. On the palate it's got massive drying tannins and juicy acidity with liquorice joining the flavours of the aromas of the nose. Not massively long but pretty good. I feel the word typicity tugging at my sleeve.

cedar, a little ripe red cherry backed by plenty of dry flowers, a little cream and spice. Juicy acidity with massive tannins but this is more out of joint than the albeit cheaper Langhe Nebbiolo. Hmm.

Something Bretty and gamey married to (surprisingly) sweaty Ribena backed by meat in a cream sauce. Huge tannins dominate with, arguably, a lack of acidity. Meh
