Sunday lunch (McLeay Street Bistro, Potts Point): I recommended this to a friend after a tasting a couple of years ago and they very kindly brought it along for lunch. Lovely rich stone fruits, a little apple, cream and butter, really rich nose and this translate to the palate where beautifully integrated residual sugar offsets the natural acidity. Travels long. I should have recommended a case not a bottle! Superb.

Final bottle from a three bottle lot purchased from the Dutch importer. Not decanted. Very similar to my previous note from May 2020, but it seems to be at perfect peak right now. The mango, peach and strawberry fruit is really impressive, and the residual sugar is beautifully integrated. Beautiful balance, ripe but fresh style, silky texture, stony minerality, perfect weight (13% ABV), honeyed spice, excellent length. Marvellous stuff. Drink now.

Really good wine. Everything I want from Austrian Riesling with texture, balance and tension. A little bit of residual but screaming acidity to keep it in check. Highly recommend!

A private lunch with family (at home): Decanted. Silky, off-dry, beautifully pure and precise, well-defined fruit (peach, mango, strawberry), balanced and elegant, fresh and harmonious, lovely persistence.

Cellarhand 20th Anniversary Tour 2019 V2 (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street): Crikey! Ripe, rich, more peach apples stone fruit, bees was, lees, cream. It feels like there is a little residual sugar to offset the acidity. Balance is near perfect. Lovely.
