Same bottle as Salil. Significantly advanced and disjointed. This bottle showed no provenance issues, and was purchased upon release and stored properly. It just shouldn't be so oxidized at this stage in its life and honestly wasn't much different from my previous bottle.
Same bottle as Salil. Definitely quite primary still but there is a lot of promise in this wine. Well balanced and entirely quaffable. I wish I could have followed this through the night but it just didn't last.
Drank side by side with 1989 Pichon Baron and I preferred the Raffault. The fruit is somewhat muted compared with what I expected based on other notes but the tertiary elements were there to provide reasonable complexity. A really nice wine.
Same bottle as Salil. A very nice example of a mature pauillac with tertiary elements combined with dark fruits. Still, for the price and history of this Chateaux, I expected a lot more.
Meat and smoke along with bright red fruit. A really compelling old school syrah. Well balanced and open for business after a couple hours in the decanter.
Ick. This wine offered a very unpleasant chemical like odor that I think smelled mostly of turpentine. The palate was completely uninterested and frankly, undrinkable.
This offered up heat that distracted from what might be a reasonably solid if not particularly compelling wine. A sign of the vintage perhaps? Decent, but not memorable.
