Cedar, slender and more on the elegant side with a good finish, but a bit too dominant acidity for my taste

Intense, beautiful nose. Cassis, meat juices, dense and creamy in the nose, long and beautiful. As with the 1950 Mouton, it was at its best early on and lost with too much air

Candied sugar, honey, incredibly warm and creamy wine, tons of umami, long rich and awesome

Unfortunately an off bottle, medicinal and not expressive, we decided to put it aside but it was not a good idea. Completely fell apart with the acidity dominating everything, what a shame!

Lovage, pear, balsamic, fermenting banana, good length, held up well with air. Great to drink now

As usual for Lafite a lighter color and slightly opaque, Strawberries, light, balanced and not with the desired intensity. Still drinkable though

What a funky bottle of this wine, but oh sooo good. It was like the wine re-incarnation of a bloody mary. Tomato juice, celery, tons of umami and veyr long. Good stuff!

Surprisingly sweet, caramel, cough syrup, slightly artificial sweetness, but very pleasurable to drink

A monument of a wine. Still so young, warm butter, moss, sweet, licorice, absolutely amazing, rich, long and just layers upon layers of greatness.

The first smell was just amazing, cherries, red berries, great sweetness, it turned fast into barnyard notes, iron and blood. Started to remind me more of northern rhone than St.Emilion. Started out as a 95 points wine and landed quickly at 90ish...

1953 Château La Mission Haut-Brion 92 Points
France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan
Feels actually quite young in the nose - as opposed to the palate - with cassis and espresso notes as well as ground coffee beans. Not harmonious in the palate with an acidity that overpowers the rest of the wine, it seems that this is an off bottle

1950 Château Mouton Rothschild 95 Points
France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
Pop’n’poured, that was a good decision as the wine was stunning - absolutely stunning - early on but after about 30 minutes in the glass it slowed down. Cinnamon, smoky, sweet, oak, caramel, red curry paste, so funky and beautiful. Annd most of all just a lot of fun to drink!
