Completely relaxed Kabinett from a warm vintage. Wonderful balance, lots of ripe fruit, chalky mineral core, a bit chubby, but never fat. Round and smooth, very nice drinking window. No need to hurry though, this has at least another decade ahead. 90-91

Racy, fresh, very precise. Obviously from a colder vintage, a bit leaner. Refreshing and lovely to drink. Medium length. Has at least 5+ years of further development. 88-89

Immediately noticeable, why this is an auction Kabinett: Tension, extract, depth. Seems a bit like a declassified Spätlese. Wonderful ripe warm yellow stone fruit, lovely mineral core. Great balance. Long! Still very youthful, would love to taste this wine in 10+ years again. 92-93+

Clear, youthful medium golden color. Clean, medium+ intense, developing nose, easily identifiable as Grünhaus: herbs, cassis, tangerine. Beautiful and complex!
On the palate almost dry, with a lively, medium+ acidity that is perfectly integrated. 8,5% abv. Very juicy, lots of herbs, cassis, tangerine and yellow fruit, some vanilla and mineral notes. Perfect balance, great elegance, round but also nice tension. Long and lingering finish. This bottle would have had a bright future of at least another decade. 93+

Unfortunately corked. Otherwise a perfect, youthful bottle.

Clear, medium yellow-golden color, very young. Clean, developing nose with pronounced, wonderful bouquet of aromas: Guava, Cassis, elder, tangerine, zests, vanilla, garden herbs (dill),. Very fine, elegant, multi-layered and chiseled. Never loud. Really awesome, one of the most complex Riesling I ever had.
Sweet, with medium+/high acidity that is perfectly integrated and balances the sweetness. Low alcohol (8% abv), medium body and pronounced intensity. Wonderful complex aromas of tangerine, garden herbs, Cassis, elder, passion fruit, salty mineral notes. It tastes like you would drink a freshly pressed tangerine juice that was poured over a slate rock in a herb garden. Fantastic! All aromas linger for a very long time on the palate. As the nose, this wine is never loud. Very calm, elegant, complex, thereby clear and pure. A very beautiful experience it is. And it has certainly potential for further ageing of at least 10+ years, though I can’t imagine that it can get any better. Who knows? Really great stuff! 96-97

Clear, brilliant medium-deep golden-amber color. Clean, medium+ intense and fully developed nose with a nice mélange of smoke, herbs, black tea, ripe fruit, fine petrol, speck, malt.
Sweetness has mellowed nicely and is perfectly balanced by the high, ripe acidity. Low alcohol with 8,5% abv which makes this wine even more joyful.
Medium+ -> pronounced flavors of herbs, black tea, tangerine, fine salty mineral notes. Long and lingering finish with some hints of caramel at the end. Nice, but after this awesome Abtsberg it felt tired and past peak, so not as exciting as my first bottle. Nevertheless a beautiful wine. Drink now! 90-91

This flight was perfectly matched with a great steak and fried goose liver. Amazing combination.
Popped and poured. Clear, medium amber color with a reddish hue. Clean, medium- intense, developing nose. Not very appealing, some petrol, honey. I guess it simply needs way more time to open up.
On the palate a wonderful surprise: Sweet, but never sticky. The high amount of ripe and perfectly integrated acidity gives this wine a freshness and vibrancy that I have never seen in a Beerenauslese before. 9% abv. On the palate lots of fresh pressed blood orange. Perfect balance of sweetness and acidity. Long, lingering finish. Immortal with a potential of further ageing for 10-20 years. 93+

Amber color. Fully developed, very spicy nose and also a bit hot. On the palate rich and hot. Spicy, wax, tannin, honey. Not overly complex and IMHO past peak. 88-90

Golden amber color. Deep and spicy nose, lots of black pepper. On the palate very concentrated, some volatile acidity, mature, black pepper all around. Long finish. Drink up.

Clear, youthful medium golden color. Wonderful fresh nose, with fine crushed stones and fine yellow stone fruit. Young and complex.
On the palate perfect harmony and balance, but also pressure and tension. Astonishingly young and fresh with a lively, ripe acidity. Delicate ripe fruit, some herbs mixed with fine crushed stones. Long and lingering finish. This bottle is at its peak and has at least another decade ahead! 93-94

Clear, pale lemon color. Clean, medium- intense, youthful nose with herbs (lemon balm), green and white fruit, mineral notes and some floral notes. Nice, but not yet fully developed and rather closed.
On the palate off-dry, lean and focused. High, laser like acidity, a bit lemony. Only 8% abv. Medium intense flavors of lime, white fruit (peach) and herbs. Still a bit unbalanced and nervous. But also crisp and elegant with good extract. It simply needs a few years to settle and develop its complexity. 89-90+

Medium-sweet, wonderful laser like high and ripe acidity. Herbaceous, white fruit. Dense and deep with lots of extract, very long. Great potential. 92-93+

Clear, pale golden yellow color. Clean, very open nose with exotic fruit, lime, herbs. Deep and beautiful.
On the palate a bit rounder, smoother than the Falkenstein. Apricots, herbs, zests, medium-sweet, medium+, ripe acidity. Beautiful with good potential for the next decade at least. 90-91+

Thank’s to our host for this gift. Very interesting to taste a sip. But I don’t understand, why someone makes this wine. 16% vodka dissolved in Cherry and Strawberry jam. Yes, it has 16% abv!. Sweet, hot and one-dimensional. After a glass I would get a headache. Certainly immortal, but will it improve? 86-89

Popped and poured. Clear, pale golden yellow color. Nose a bit closed, smoke, yeast, fine fruit, very fresh and complex. On the palate also very elegant and balanced, with a wonderful pressure and tension. Wonderful, ripe acidity, fine fruit, some nice bitter notes (zests). Very long and lingering. Still very young with great potential. 94
