  • 2012 Agrapart Champagne Grand Cru Minéral Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut

    France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru

Very elegant on both nose and palate. Filled with white and yellow fruits, white flowers, a touch of freshly baked white bread and intense minerality. Well delineated, flowing on the palate effortlessly. Nice complexity, growing on depth and richness toward the end, very long and saline. The 2012 is showing really well recently.

  • 2008 Bouchard Père et Fils Corton-Charlemagne Domaine

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru

    Light yellow, no premox!
A highly intense and focus aromas of caramel popcorn intermixed with bright yellow fruits, thyme, white pepper and light flint. It has excellent intensity on the palate, very rich fruits and minerality, growing at the back with a little oak influence. The depth and structured suggested this is a grand cru to me. Doesn't has the buttery/creamy texture hence I thought this was a Corton Charlie, and the ripeness and lesser acidity, leads me to 2006 instead of 2008. Showing really well today. One of my favorite from Bouchard, and very good value.

  • 2008 Domaine Robert Groffier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru

13.5% light rim. High tone, a little iron intermixed with lovely sweet red fruits, elegant, red n blue flowers, a touch of spices all wrapping in a highly expressive and aromatic frame. Really fresh at the entry, sweeter fruits (initially wasn’t, it crunchy), very powerful but in a subtle, sophisticated way, Super fine grained tannin. The finish just won’t let go. Might not be the deepest wine but it is highly complex, engaging and full of energy that no one will disagree this is not a grand cru. My guess: a TOP 1er Cru or grand cru.

  • 2001 Domaine Bois de Boursan Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée des Félix

    France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape

    13.5%
Where can you get a 13.5% Cdp nowadays?! I had this with diy steak and goes perfectly well. Nice healthy Color with only a light rim. Leather, just the lightest touch of barn, sweet herbs, lavender, smoked bacon, roasted coffee, very deep and powerful in an indiscernible savory at the entry, complex mid palate, loaded with fruits but not flabby, well defined backbone, firm but ripe tannin. Really nice length with touch of espresso.
