France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
The wine needed an hour or 2/3 to open up. The wine was still very much alive and lovely, although it felt as if it is past its peak. Red fruit, plum, vanilla and herbs, a bitof heat from the alcohol
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton Grand Cru
After 30-60m in the glas really opened up. Quite powerful, clearly a strong vintage. Might be right at is peak right now, although can be cellared for still quite some time. Clear primary red fruit (strawberry, red berries), forest ground and leather. Nice and elegant
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
The oldest table wine I ever had to this moment and, although not fully alive and kicking anymore, still very enjoyable. Tertiary aroma’s were dominant, especially leather, but there were still hints of raspberry and red berries. Amazing after such a long time
2019 Domaine Chauveau Coteaux du Giennois Silex 86 Points
France, Loire Valley, Upper Loire, Coteaux du Giennois
Relatively light on the nose for a Sauvignon Blanc, white stone fruit, bit of grass. Fine drinking wine for €9

2007 Domaine des Baumard Savennières Clos du Papillon Flawed
France, Loire Valley, Anjou-Saumur, Savennières
Decanted for 20 hours (as that was what the previous bottle needed), but that was clearly too much. Colliflower was the only real aroma left...
Still one bottle in the cellar

PnP. Tasted blind. I guessed it for a Bordeaux, right bank. Lots of ripe fruit, touch of raisins, nicely in balance. Worth repeating!
