  • 2000 Château Beychevelle 93 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Julien

From magnum, decanted for 1:40hr and poured into vessels at 5:30pm for transport. Drank a 4oz pour over an hour starting around 9:30pm. Great old school Bordeaux. Earth and leather dominate. There's cherry, mixed berries and mushroom. Dried leaves, forest floor and pencil lead create a polished palate that sings on the finish.

  • 2000 Château Malescot St. Exupéry 91 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux

Splash double decanted and then decanted for an additional 30 minutes and poured into vessels at 5:45pm for transport. Drank a 2oz pour over an hour plus starting around 10pm. Red fruit, flowers, creamy cassis. This drank younger than expected and was less interesting than the previous 3 wines, although still a classy Bordeaux.

  • 2012 Cliff Lede Cabernet Sauvignon Stags Leap District 92 Points

USA, California, Napa Valley, Stags Leap District

Decanted for 1.6 hours and poured into vessels at 5:45pm for transport. But I petered out at the end of the tasting so drank a 2oz pour the following evening. Blackberry liquish, kirsch, anise on the palate. The wine is dense, screaming for some red meat. There is sweet red fruit and pretty tannins.

  • 2006 The Standish Wine Company The Relic 92 Points

Australia, South Australia, Barossa, Barossa Valley

PNP into vessels at 5:45pm for transport. But I petered out and the end of the tastign so drank a 2oz pour the following evening. Inky and fruity. Really fruity. The wine was not big or alcoholic, elegant, well-integrated, juicy and fruity.
