Tasted blind - Rather light and non-descriptive on the nose: a floral aroma’s, oxidative notes, a hint of solvent (terpentine), hardly any fruit. Long salty finish. Probably an acquired taste, but not directly my taste
Tasted blind - Pale yellow in color, aromas developed in the glass; manderins, minerality, a bit of anise, lemon, a hint of vanilla. Developed into something that resembled a tighter version of 1 cru Meursault. A bit creamy in the mouth with a long finish
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Tasted blind - amazingly complex, I mistook it for an older Chenin Blanc. A nose with mainly tertairy notes while retaining its freshness, that kept developing over the 15-30 min of the tasting: almonds, oak, iodine, pine, caramel, citrus. Long finish
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru
Tasted blind - Clearly Pinot Noir from the Bourgogne. Translucent red, very fruity, cherries, forest ground. Thought it was younger than it appeared to be. Long finish
Italy, Veneto, Valpolicella, Amarone della Valpolicella Classico
Tasted blind - Thought Northern Rhone from a warm vintage or Australia, did not expect an amarone as it did not have the typical raisin & dried fruit aromas. Clearly ripe fruit, jam, blackberries, but also green notes (tomato leaf) and spices (hence the initial northern rhone association)
