Meaty, smoky, cherry and some undergrowth aromatics. Palate is well balanced, with plenty of savoury flavour and restrained red and black fruits. Good acid keeps it lively and structured. Drinking well now though a few more years wouldn't hurt either.

Roses, raspberry and darker cherry fruits on the nose. Sweet fruited, much more so than the savoury 2011 next to it. Feels like the structure is dipping away versus a bottle a couple of years back which had much more grip. Probably time to look at these for drinking.

Red cherry, oak, cocoa and blackcurrant. Clean fruited on the palate, polished and medium weight. Bit less interest than the 2011 at this stage, but I think this has more space to develop.

Plummy, blackberry, cinnamon and tobacco. Rich upfront on the palate but pulls it all together with some spice lending interest and a fresh lift from the acidity. Feels like early days for this one.

Smoky oak on the nose, along with black cherry, pomegranate and violets. Palate shows some more oak influence, tempering down the sweet fruit at this early stage. Seems to have some good structure via the tannins. Could go one of two ways but I'm hopeful it will shed some of the oak and sweet fruit and find its way.

Toasty oak, redcurrant, blueberry and red cherry. Palate has a good mix of savoury and sweet fruit, with good balance to the oak and tannin - still retains a fresh lift and well defined profile. Really solid.
