The second lunch arranged for a mini vertical of RP&F CC. Vintages this time included 2014, 2000, 1998 & 1995.
The 1998 had a bright mid depth gold colour, a developed nose with an intriguing hint of piquancy. Full bodied with developed citrus flavours matched with some delicious bitter notes described by some as burnt caramel but as a positive contribution to the complexity of the palate. The persistent and acid fresh finish showed no sign of drying out. Wine of the day 19.5
2014 Remoissenet Père et Fils Corton-Charlemagne
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
The 2014 signaled its youth with a light, bright white gold colour. It was fruit forward in style with yellow stone fruits flooding the palate but checked from being fat by the plentiful acidity. Plenty of discussion about the wine not being in the RP&F CC style with the pronounced forward fruit verging for some as being over ripe and others as just needing time to integrate. The final consensus was to score it as 18+ with plus being for potential. Please decant in advance if opening soon.

2000 Remoissenet Père et Fils Corton-Charlemagne
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
The 2000 was deepish yellow gold in colour with a developed but vibrant nose showing ripe apricot fruit and a mellow nuttiness. The palate was long and concentrated with a background of spicy oak adding complexity to the finish. Overall, the balance of development and retained acidity was spot on and the wine was definitely in the Remoissenet CC style. It will probably never drink better than it did on the day. Plenty of support around the table 19.

1995 Remoissenet Père et Fils Corton-Charlemagne
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
The 1995 also showed a bright mid depth gold colour and a developed nose in the stone fruits spectrum. The palate flavours were again of developed stone fruits with good concentration and depth. The acidity remained fresh and the finish was long. There was no drying out but there was some discussion about the palate beginning to fade slightly. I think Tom said this was second Remoissenet CC that he and Fred had imported and at nearly thirty years of age it still stands tall 18.5.
