Introduction

How time flies and the little upstart we went for the first time and fell in love back in 20 Nov 2022 evolved and matured to 2 Michelin Star masterpiece and frankly 3 star deserving.

The Dinner comprised of 22 dishes 2 from each year of operation and was really an homage to a decade of greatness.
The notes below consisted of a mix of the Champagne Pairing & The Chefs 10Y Pairing Special with the 2012 Ch Ampuis a gift from us for all to share.

Flight 1 (17 Notes)

  • NV P. Lancelot-Royer Champagne Cuvée de Reserve R. R. Blanc de Blancs Brut 90 Points

    France, Champagne

By the glass as part of the pairing for The Kitchen Table, London 10yr Anniversary Event.
100% Chardonnay from Grand Cru vineyards. Fresh and vibrant, soft rich undertone, bright though and in a way in the middle of the richness scale albeit far more an aperitif champagne than anything else. Well made and very much the elegant wine one needs to to kickstart a celebration. 90-91

  • NV The Kitchen Table Damson Seed Vodka

    United Kingdom, England

By the glass as part of the pairing for The Kitchen Table, London 10yr Anniversary Event.
Very much an almond, marzipan at times feel on these and less fruity more nutty feel. Very pretty as one expects from James Knappett at his 2 Michelin Star establishment that is the Amazing The Kitchen table.

  • 2019 Eric Bordelet Poiré Granit

    France, Normandy

By the glass as part of the pairing for The Kitchen Table, London 10yr Anniversary Event.
A very vinous, almost a wine just made of fruit and in that style down to the vintage bottlings. Can be a touch sweet at times but very pretty when well paired with food.

  • NV J-M Seleque Champagne Le Quintette 91 Points

    France, Champagne

By the glass as part of the pairing for The Kitchen Table, London 10yr Anniversary Event.
100% Chardonnay 80% based on the 2017 vintage , disgorged in February 2021 with 2g/l dosage. Blend of 5 Terroirs hence the "Quintette" planted between 1950 and 1982. Firm and bright, soft toasty feel, sees oak and has the rounder feel than expected of an extra but and in general e very well made and enjoyable champagne and punches well above its price. 91

    Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer

By the glass as part of the pairing for The Kitchen Table, London 10yr Anniversary Event.
What a joy this wine and in general GG Riesling is fast becoming a personal favorite. Bright, energetic and with lovely polished acidity. Soft honey touch on the finish , light petrol and almost a feel for caramel but full on dry and demands respect. Very very good wine. 92-93

  • NV Koshi No Kanbai Junmai Daiginjo , Muku " Pure Dream "

    Japan, Chūbu, Niigata

By the glass as part of the pairing for The Kitchen Table, London 10yr Anniversary Event.
An effortless sake and an obvious Junmai Daiginjo in character and ever so elegant and soft o the palate, light creamy in a way but with a very much firm style. We have had this a few times by now and always deliver. Also sometimes comes with the English Name Pure Realm. Tech Specs in earlier TN.

  • NV Françoise Bedel Champagne Entre Ciel et Terre 92 Points

    France, Champagne

By the glass as part of the pairing for The Kitchen Table, London 10yr Anniversary Event.
50% Pinot Meunier, 30% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay based of the 2014 vintage , disgorges in October 2019 after 4 month on the lees.

Albeit majority is red grapes the wine is a lot more mineral and focused than the richer side one expected to find. Floral and fresh, soft brioche too, focussed and with a nice persistence on the palate. 92

  • 2017 Burning Sky Brewery Cuvée

    United Kingdom, England

By the glass as part of the pairing for The Kitchen Table, London 10yr Anniversary Event.
Along the way of a wine & champagne flight arrives a beer. Alas this is no ordinary beer and in a way felt a lot more like a wine with distinct feel and less of a drink for the moment but drink too savor depth of flavor. Impressive.

  • 2021 A Los Vinateros Bravos País Volcánico 90 Points

    Chile, Itata Valley

By the glass as part of the pairing for The Kitchen Table, London 10yr Anniversary Event.
Fresh and bright but welcoming and not at all difficult. If it wasn't for the plum feel on the fruit one could well mistake it for a Pinot given the softness of it on the palate. Impressive for a style we dnt usually go for and in a way reminded us of a young vine wine but in a nice way. Very pretty 90

  • NV René-Henri Coutier Champagne Grand Cru Brut Rosé 89 Points

    France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru

By the glass as part of the pairing for The Kitchen Table, London 10yr Anniversary Event.
Based by 60% of the 2017 vintage, 20% Pinot Noir and rest Chardonnay from grand cru vineyards. Disgorged April 2022 with ^ g/l.
A soft rich feel from this salmon colored wine ( richer red than a Provence rose but not that rich red of confectionery wines). Apple feel, soft floral touches, nice richness but fails to hit the memorable mark we have to say. 89-90

  • 2013 Elvio Cogno Barbaresco Bordini 91 Points

    Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barbaresco

By the glass as part of the pairing for The Kitchen Table, London 10yr Anniversary Event.
Expected this to richer and riper and in a way more one dimensional on the fruit given the 2013 vintage. Alas is softer, savory, sour edge at times, cherry and a goo presence of a tar edge. Palate fatigue had started to creep by this stage so unfort the rest of the fine elements were lost. 91 ish feel

  • 2005 Domaine de la Mordorée Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée de la Reine des Bois 90 Points

    France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape

By the glass as part of the pairing for The Kitchen Table, London 10yr Anniversary Event.
Albeit this arrived at a time when palate fatigue was already present still it was bright enough to be noticed. That been said it did have a brutish feel, like the fruit was a bit not the healthiest. Still that herbs de Provence feel was there, soft smoky but overall lacked a bit of elegance hat could well be the result of a juicy ripeness when this was young that didn't make the journey to old age. 89-91

  • 2018 Déhu Père & Fils Coteaux Champenois Cuvée La Rue des Noyers Rouge 90 Points

    France, Champagne, Coteaux Champenois

By the glass as part of the pairing for The Kitchen Table, London 10yr Anniversary Event.
A very soft expression of a rich wine this was . As best as we can place it. Decent richness but not over done, spice but tamed, red fruited with a bit of a crunchy fruit like a cranberry at core. Not sure how this ages but was pretty enjoyable at this stage, 90-91

  • 2012 E. Guigal Côte-Rôtie Château d'Ampuis 93 Points

    France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Côte-Rôtie

Once again from a beautiful magnum decanted and served.
This wine never seizes to amaze us and consistently delivers. Beautiful soft smoky, welcoming nose, ripe dark fruit and light spice. Well round and supple on the palate, soft yet proper tannin, silky and vibrant finish. Easy 93

  • NV A. Margaine Champagne Premier Cru Demi-Sec 91 Points

    France, Champagne, Champagne Premier Cru

By the glass as part of the pairing for The Kitchen Table, London 10yr Anniversary Event.
We always argue with these champagnes whether one feels more the dosage than the wine. We discussed it a bit and seems as expressed on the label with 70% of the wine get no malolactic fermentation the brightness of the acids keeps a hold of the whopping 32 g/l dosage and keeps the wine in check. Soft mousse, well balanced and indeed a great surprise. Very good 91-92

88% Chardonnay, 12% Pinot Noir, 55% based on the 2019 vintage, disgorged March 2022 with 32 g/l dosage.

  • 2008 Domaine Huet Vouvray Moelleux 1ère Trie Clos du Bourg 92 Points

    France, Loire Valley, Touraine, Vouvray

By the glass as part of the pairing for The Kitchen Table, London 10yr Anniversary Event.
Even arriving at the end of a super long wine flight this was not to be missed. Grated is young and lacks the evolution of older vinatges we have had but still ever so cahrmign and elegant. A lot darker than we expected, a lot more evolution, marmalade, orange peel, soft honey, apricots and special as always. 92-93
