69/76/77 blind vertical. Beautifully charming and intriguing mature Burgundy aromas, with a palate that follows suit. Still a good amount of fruit but the tertiary elements really shine here. Excellent, but a step behind the other two bottles.

69/76/77 blind vertical. Delightfully buoyant and complex fruit that has plenty of black cherry flesh remaining and so much layering nuance. Resolved structure but enough to keep things fresh and lingering. Just a tick behind the surprising '77.

69/76/77 blind vertical. This defies all beliefs about the vintage and shows gorgeously complex, delineated, and fresh. Held on strong in the glass for 45+ minutes. A real treat.

85/88/90 blind. Corked ugh.

Blind 85/88/90. This had plenty of fruit with some fresh black cherry remaining plus iron, earth and mushroom. Structure is rugged and likely not going anywhere and therefore a feature that will last with the wine. Plenty of fruit now to provide balance and approachability.

85/88/90 blind. A brilliant bottle, and entirely consistent with my love for 1990 Jadot. So youthfully rich, plump and concentrated. Primary black cherry shows off but makes plenty of room for spice and earthen complexity. Long, powerful finish is breathtaking.

Double blind. Consistent with many of the wines tonight, this showed very young and fresh for its age. Lots of red cherry with a nice array of spices took me to Chambolle. Didn't scream Gevrey meatiness but a fun, interesting maturing red burg.

02/03 blind. As usual, it's very hard to pick the vintage when Jadot 02 and 03 are presented together. This was more concentrated and sturdy at this stage. Seriously beautiful fruit that has initial complexity, but will develop so much more. This will enter a peak window soon and go for 15-25+ years.

02/03 blind. An incredibly impressive 2003 with deliciously round, fresh and layered fruit. Not a hint of roastedness or heaviness. Everything in the right place and with excellent complexity to the fruit. At a joyous peak.

2005 Louis Jadot Montrachet
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Montrachet Grand Cru
05/06/09 Double Blind. Golden color and showing advanced, though not totally over-the-hill. More interesting on the palate than the nose. Clear 3 of 3 in the flight.

2006 Louis Jadot Montrachet 96 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Montrachet Grand Cru
05/06/09 Double Blind. Sensational aromatics with beautifully fresh orchard fruit accented by florals, mineral, spice and some honey crisp. Hugely concentrated palate with impeccable balance. So young and long.

05/06/09 double blind. A powerhouse of a wine with massive fatty, fleshy fruit and good balancing acidity though not quite as precise as the blind 06 side-by-side. I guessed this to be the 2006. At peak now.
