France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Something was wrong here. Lacking fruit, lacking the complexity so common in Ramonet 2013s. A shrill finish emerged, making me think this slightly corked.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Alongside les Caillerets 2018, both too young. Rich, rounded velvety textures, this is charming and perfectly balanced, yet with so much in reserve. Lots of lemon curd, candied lemon peel and ripe apple with a floral start. Group was divided over which wine they preferred, I preferred the Caillerets. This will reach its apogee earlier.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Alongside Clos du Cailleret 2018, both too young, but this bottle was particularly too young. A real powerhouse with seemingly Grand Cru density, this is still slightly awkward and not nearly as seamless as its flight-mate. Yet showcasing so much darn fruit throughout. Better from 2028 forward.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Really exceptional in every way, and better than the previous couple of times tasted. Floral and spiced start with a complex array of orchard fruit and great depth, culminating in a long, energetic, minerally finish.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
In Anne Gros 2010 Grand Cru horizontal. Another perfectly harmonious 2010, this shows good+ density and lots of nuance with faint spice and cooked meat hints. Group was equally divided between this and Echezeaux for 2nd fav of the flight, but I preferred this CV.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Echezeaux Grand Cru
In Anne Gros 2010 Grand Cru horizontal. Perfectly Vosne spiced with so much red fruit, this was the rare 2010 that isn't perfectly integrated and still needing more cellar time. Group was equally divided between this and Clos Vougeot for 2nd fav of the flight, but I preferred the CV.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Richebourg Grand Cru
In Anne Gros 2010 Grand Cru horizontal. The star of the (great) flight. Classically Vosne spiced with so much bright red cherry and berry, this isn't as powerful as in some other great vintages, but is perfectly balanced and seamless.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
In vertical. Fully mature red berry and cherry with baking spice. Lots here, but slightly more earth than I'd consider ideal. Final glass was still going strong on Night Two. Not as vibrant or exciting vs last time tasted in 2021.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
In vertical, this was the star. Ripe and powerful, this showcases amazing richness and spice. So much pleasure here, well supported by its structure , just out of the spotlight in the near background. This should drink well for another decade+.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
In vertical. Still firm even if not backward. Bright red fruit with subtle spice, this is certainly enjoyable and dense, just slightly lacking the enticing charm of the great vintages.
2015 Jean-Claude Ramonet Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chaumées 92 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Alongside the 2013. Rich and fleshy with peach and pear notes, but vet balanced and {nearly) restrained from middle forward. At a very good place now.

2012 Domaine Ramonet Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets 90 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Fun, ripe, and well spiced, this is maturing gracefully but lacking the energy of the other Ramonet wines this evening. Time to drink up.
