Weekend in Michigan with Wine; 8/5/2023-8/6/2023 (Asian Spice House - Buchanan MI): Opened in the afternoon, revisited at dinner. Rich and spicy to start, but seemingly a touch too oaky and "modern." More classic style and depth emerged several hours later, with the new oak spice recast as classically Vosne with more depth and bright red fruit. Very good.

Ramonet 1er Cru / Anne Gros Grand Cru Dinner (Formento's - Chicago IL): In vertical, this was the star. Ripe and powerful, this showcases amazing richness and spice. So much pleasure here, well supported by its structure , just out of the spotlight in the near background. This should drink well for another decade+.
