Bright mid ruby. Nicely bright mid red fruit nose. Lovely, real energy. Relatively leggy in the glass. Silky. Cool red fruit. Slightly candied red fruit nose. Just a touch of heat on the finish but not too much. Elegant and bright. ****

Slightly duller, dense mid ruby. Fuller and denser on the nose. Some spice. Quite leggy in the glass. Some evolution here. Heat too. Rounded, a pinch of sous bois and a little caramel. Full but not overdone though the alcohol does feel a little out of kilter at the moment. **(**)

Mid straw. Puligny white florality, acacia with a pinch of honeysuckle as it warms. Mid weight. Nicely mineral with some chalky grip. Elegant but complete. Floral, inviting and lots of interest. ****

Mid straw. Riper and fuller. A melon and tropical fruited ripeness. Soft. Really quite rounded. A touch sweet. Round and friendly but cloying and lacking line/shape. Of its type, but not my style. Others liked it far more. ***

Pale to mid straw. Light and bright. Mineral and lime cut. Very precise.clean and lean. Not quite grace for impact, but a long distance athlete. ***(*)

Dense full ruby. Dense and rounded. The larger glass cf the other wines isn’t helping - alcohol fumes in a brandy balloon. Doesn’t suit it. Heady. Needs time and needs to be cooler. after an hour or so the nose is far more approachable and floral in the glass, the alcohol seemingly having evaporated. Lots of wine here, but the wrong circumstances in which to shine. **(*1/2). Score likely to be conservative. Hopefully.

Dense mid ruby. A savoury aspect to the tannins. A woody, licorice, herbal density here. Savoury. Not particularly cuddly. A touch of spearmint as it opens. Split the table, but I wasn’t a particular fan ***1/2

Deep, dense ruby.Dark and getting darker. Consistent with a bottle six months ago — this has gone from being lovely a decade ago to a dark, brooding monster, tightening and darkening in the glass from a mid ruby tasting sample, to dense, light sapping darkness ten minutes later. Lots of wine here. But uncompromising. Needed larger glasses and to be five degrees cooler. **(**) or is it (**)**

Pale to mid straw. Freshly cut apple loveliness. Sweet but fresh and beautifully balanced. Couldn’t have been a better match for the apple crumble soufflé. Super. ****

Mid weight on the nose, quite rounded and seemingly smooth. A bit more prickle on the palate. Ok as an aperitif, but relatively hard work beyond that, though not in an unpleasant way, just not particularly inspiring. Mid to low ***
