Clear, deep golden color. Wonderful smoky and dense nose, very expressive and complex. On the palate classic DomPi: Quite baroque, some caramel, warm fruit, noticeable sweetness, smoky. But also with a wonderful depth and pressure. Very long and lingering finish. Ready for the show, but no need to hurry, will last for at least another decade. 93-94

Clear, medium golden color with a salmon hue. On nose and palate the complete opposite of the 2003 DomPi we had in parallel: Fine, elegant nose with lots of red fruit and fresh green apple. On the palate very precise, lean, youthful and fresh. Finest mousseux, elegant and very long. I guess it is not yet at its full peak and could benefit from 5+ years of cellaring. Very beautiful! 94

Tasted blind. Clear, pale golden color. Quite muted and rather boring, non saying nose. On the palate very fine, elegant, precise and dense with an almost oily texture. Very fresh, some hints of lime and very mineral. Solid finish. 91-92

Tasted blind. Clear, pale golden color. Way more expressive nose than the Raveneau: Reductive, some oak, lime and flint. Love it. On the palate not as elegant, precise and long as the Raveneau, but nevertheless nice. Fine herbs, lean, mineral. Solid Chablis with some ageing potential. 89-90

Tasted blind. Pirate. Clear, medium golden color. Mediocre nose, some vegetables. On the palate rather warm and hot, suprised to see that it only has 12,5% abv. Spicy, very powerful but also quite balanced. Drink up. 88

Tasted blind. Clear, deep golden color. Lactic nose, ripe, slightly over the top. On the palate same situation: Lactic, ripe, very advanced. Still drinkable with joy, but this bottle was past peak. 87

Tasted blind. Clear, medium ruby-garnet color. Nose with some animal scents, barn, brett. On the palate very precise, high acidity, reductive, elegant. Nice tension and energy, fine tannin. Medium+ finish. 91-92

Clear, medium ruby garnet color. Fine, airy, herbaceous nose, very German. On the palate herbaceous, dense, somky, some speck, clean. Tannin not as fine as the other wine in the flight. Medium length. A bit disappointing for what it is. 90-91

Tasted blind. In this flight we were all convinced to drink either 2007/2011 CSJ from Esmonin. That already should tell how great both wines of this flight performed. And that we all thought that this Huber was a top notch Burgundy... Clear, deep ruby-garnet color. Deep, smoky, complex and multi-layered nose. On the palate silky texture, high acidity, fine tannin structure. Spicy, herbaceous, a bit green, cool, very elegant and with a nice pressure. 93-94

Fine, airy, deep and complex nose. On the palate very deep, high acidity and fine tannin. Beautifully balanced and round, but also with great tension and pressure. Long, multi-layered finish. Best Pinot this evening! 94-95

Tasted blind. Pirate. I could swear to god that I was drinking Pinot and not Rioja! Clear, deep, garnet and youthful color. 10 years perhaps, but 70? Spicy, deep and ripe nose with some black pepper. On the palate lean, precise, high, well integrated acidity, sweet red fruit, some floral notes, very well balanced and fresh. Solid length. Amazed to see what it actually was. 89-90

Tasted blind. Clear, deep ruby color. Nose was airy and a bit muted. On the palate very round, balanced and harmonious. Fine, but a bit drying tannin, elegant, juicy and fresh. Good length. 92-93

Tasted blind. Do we find the Roumier in this flight? Yes, it clearly stood out. Clear, deep ruby color. Beautiful deep and complex nose. Youthful, but also very multi-layered. On the palate also very deep dense and young. Beautiful fine texture, fine tannin, some reduction. Wonderful balance and tension, long. Makes fun already but more to come for sure. 92-93

Tasted blind. Deep, golden amber color. Needed some time in the glass to unfold. Had some glue notes at first that vanished and classic Ruwer notes emerged. High, racy acidity, Cassis, elder notes, dense and deep, racy and precise. We should have given the wines more time, perhaps it would become even more complex. Nevertheless a beautiful Ruwer Auslese. Lack a bit the final tension and pressure to be really great, but nevertheless very, very good. 93

Tasted blind. Clearly Grünhaus, clearly Spätlese. This evening for me the Spätlese outperformed the Karthäuserhof Auslese. Beautiful precision, clarity, tension and energy that developed with every second in the glass. Juicy, racy and lingering. That's how Ruwer Spätlese should be. 93-94

2022 Weingut Aldinger Nr. 530 Rosé 87 Points

Nice, harmless sparkler. Fruity, quite elegant, uncomplicated, not too sweet, young. Lacks depth and tension though. 87-88
