Drank this September 2015, For me the best of the 5 Clos St Jacques in 07, just a beauty, all what you want and more .... pure power and really intense, gives you something to think about, love it ..... and worth the money ! Had the Rousseau 07 twice this year and I will go for this baby anytime ....
Youthful medium ruby red, starting to brown at the edges; very pure and precise nose, cool, mineral and deep, with well-absorbed smoky oak (100% new), floral notes from the stems (75% whole cluster) and black cherry fruit; slender but not skinny palate, fine-boned, rounds out with oxygen, fresh and energetic, elegant and refined, light flavours, gentle oak tannins, very good length. A wine of great finesse, a display of sensitive wine making. Do I detect a female hand?
This wine is drinking beautifully. Nose has hints of spice and coffee. On the palate, a beautifully supple pinot mouthfeel, finishing very long with a dry finish. This wine seems to combine power with subtlety and was enjoyable to the last drop. Lovely burgundy.
