I thought this was very minerally with traits of an aged riesling on the nose especially with the kero that showed on the nose. However, on the palate, it is slightly ripe yellow fruits with more mineral backing and aged acidity.

Sweet dark choc and confected nose but not without some smoky spiciness. Big dark fruits laced with a power packed punch of alc. Still tannic and finishes with dark coffee oak. Tasted the nex day, this developed to an even sweeter character of blackberry cassis liquer.

Big black fruits. No qualms about it , this is a true blue aussie...but did have interessting layers of flavours. Smoky, slight tarry, some meatiness and spices. The sweet ripe fruits reminiscent of aussie grenache but the spiciness giving it away as a Shiraz. Still it was very much like a rhone but more modernistic. Heavyweight ...too heavy for the food we had. This has tannins and enough acidity to complement.
At first, smelling very fresh with smoky grassy undertones which made me think NZ SB. Also white flowers that reminded of Viognier... However, when its true nature emerged, there was no escaping the butteriness and nuttiness with mineral-lined white stonefruits. This tasted extremely mellow and balanced even though it was so young!

On the first night, this was just undrinkable. Extremely hard and with abrasive tannins. After a night being opened, this really showed well. Lots of exotic spices and pepperiness. Elegant style. Composed and unrushed show of red fruits, intermixed with prunes, licourice and dried chinese menthol herbs.

Definitely soily and a big bunch of dry leaves. Very rustic and austere. Deep brooding dark fruits but pretty acidic, this shows much extraction and heavy tannins. Needs time.

Extremely tightly knit and closed up. Barely getting traces of dark berries and hints of woodspice. On the palate, the mouth-coating tannins mostly cover the palate from tasting anything much. Although I do appreciate the structure and long life this wine will have, I am not exactly sensing much now besides deep brooding fruits underneath all that layers of tannins. 82pts with potential for aging.
Lovely honey brown. This doesn't disappoint as it displays all its richness and generousity with maple honey, honey combs, dark raisins, roasted honeyed nuts and luscious unctuous mouthfeel... This is just one mellifluous dessert wine that hits the right notes of richness for an extravagant night.
