Felton Road Block Bonanza #1: Developed intense nose with rubber, elderberry, crushed stone, green herbs, citrus and hints of gunpowder. Reductive and a little cheesy initially.
Lots of oak but gets away with it, nice acidity, some bitter green notes, spices, long and warm finish.

A little more age than we'd normally give a kiwi Chardonnay, but drank beautifully. Minerality we'd normally expect had moved on, leaving a palate of well balanced tropical fruits, with a long citrus finish. Quite full bodied still - particularly for a kiwi. Delicious, and probably our pick of Christmas 2016 wines !

Lovely wine. Still pale in colour, aroma and palate are understated and elegant. Nice citrus and tropical fruit with touch of hazelnut in the finish. Moderate weight and well balanced acid.

Glossy pale lemon yellow. The nose is toasty yet quite light and floral with a lemon and lime tang. Elegant, well balanced palate with crisp acidity, minerality, fresh citrus fruit and then a toasted creamy nuttiness at the back of the palate. Precise and clean with excellent purity of flavour.

A little too much malolactic fermentation effect for me.
