5/2/2022 - beckiii Likes this wine: 88 pointsI'm sure this would have been dead if it hadn't been stored impeccably for all these years. Not much nose, light-bodied, and getting long in the tooth, but lovely with an appetizer of varied cheeses. Plenty of and and still a bit of fruit left. Might even work with salmon or swordfish. The remaining 3 bottles won't last long here. |

I was pleasantly surprised. Ready to go once the cork was pulled - decent red fruit, nice bit of spice, and the presence of the all important Pinot "funk." I've had enough $30-$40 Sonoma Pinot to know this is a very good value. Heck, if you put this down in front of most Californians they would probably guess Sonoma Coast. Good wine, great QPR. Would buy again, mostly for the fun of sharing this decent Patagonia wine with Pinotphile friends & family. Think La Crema Sonoma Coast with a bit less minerality. |
