5/5/2024 - Musinus wrote: 94 pointsStill a markedly opaque purple. Remarkably youthful and intense nose of chocolate, licorice, dark cherries, peppery-spicy, cured meats and cranberry. Completely took me by surprise as to its wow factor. Intoxicating and more like an old Burgundy than a new world Merlot. The best old vintage QC wine I’ve ever tasted. The sappy blackberry, cherry-plum flavors are delicious and robust enough to marry with substantial food pairing. Professionally stored since release, this proved to be an timeless treat. |

5/5/2024 - spineguy Likes this wine: 93 pointsIn a good place now and has many years left secondary to its richness and solid tannins. Unsure if there will be much more evolution. Complex. Very dark red rich stewed fruits with a solid wood core. Characteristic Quilceda profile. A wine for heavy meat. |

4/28/2024 - Troon wrote: 92 pointsDecanted for an hour. I contend this is the best $50 Cabernet on the market. The wine probably still needs time, but it is drinking well now. My sweet spot is 5 - 7 years, but the wine can be enjoyed with a decant. Red fruit and sweet tarts on the nose. I get beef jerky and ripe red fruit on the palate. Glad I have several more to enjoy. |

4/27/2024 - markcic Likes this wine: 95 pointsMy wife and I decided to have a private birthday dinner as there were a lot of people around yesterday on my actual birthday. This wine is exceptional and will probably get better. I opened the bottle and slow ox'd for three hours.. Dark fruit with hints of chocolate on the nose. The palate was dark berries, plums, figs, tobacco and chocolate all swirling together. The finish was long and smooth. |

4/23/2024 - d.f.c Likes this wine: 94 pointsA full-bodied and powerful Cab. Very potent alcohol and tannins level. After a reasonable amount of time decanting, the aroma of dark berries and fresh pine come out. Definitely a good wine with long lasting flavors; but it needs ample decanting. |

4/14/2024 - WR701 Likes this wine: 96 pointsFabulous wine. Decanted for 2-1/2 hours and it kept getting better as we drank it over the next 1-1'2 hours with steak. Total package, complex fruit opening that developed further making for a great mid-palate followed by a long dry finish. Completely balanced, dense but not over extracted. Much better than the previous bottle we drank with friends (again with steak) a few months ago but only decanted for a little over an hour. Koodoos to the winemaker. 2 people found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

4/20/2024 - deadwax Likes this wine: 95 pointsDouble decanted for sediment and air about 90 minutes before consumption. Very good balance for a big wine. Tannins mostly resolved. Dark fruits and spice box on the nose, those follow to the pallet. Long finish. Have a few more and plan to wait 2-3 years for the next one. |

4/20/2024 - Musinus wrote: 93 pointsDark purple. High-toned aromas of chocolate covered cherries, mint, black pepper and black currant. Dark, spice-laden red fruits galore, licorice, a bit hot on the finish. Very enjoyable at the moment. This vintage is more balanced than earlier ones. |

4/20/2024 - Noesfacil Likes this wine: 95 pointsTasted right after opening and initial impression was more alcohol than expected. The alcohol predominance became more mellow and wine became way more balanced after about 2 hours decanted. Cork was perfect and only had a perfect dark red/purple color in the bottom, maybe, 1 mm of the cork. I believe wine will keep for another 10 years easily and highly recommend decanting at least 2 hours before drinking. At that point wine is delicious, well balanced and very strong. Felt like a young wine although it has been in a bottle for 22 years. |
