Decanted four hours then poured half glasses. Dark, black color almost like a Malbec. Wonderful, deep nose. Nice balance and an explosion of dark fruits. Tannins still present but silky. Medium/Full mouthfeel. Nice extraction and structure. For me it is a bit one dimensional and doesn’t really have the flavor layersI look for. Still QPR is excellent and the wine can go for many more years. Solid effort. First time trying Buty but am inclined to add more to the cellar.

Bright fruit, good acidity and mouthfeel, oak is extremely dominant and got worse the longer it was opened to the point of undrinkable.

Really want to like it so I can buy some 1.5L and 3L local retailer has on fire sale prices...

At PnP reminds me of the '90s toasted marshmallow Merlot fad. Boozey, weak finish. Barest hint of tangy fruit hiding under all that damn diacetyl. Whiff of sulfur at finish?

Buttery popcorn mostly gone day two but so is everything else except some heat and some pepper.

"70-79 C Below/Average" but allowing some people like wine that tastes of margarine. 84, I guess.

Weak, watery wine with faint fruit, no discernible Cabernet or Syrah characteristics. Not a strong effort, something I'd expect more like a $10 price point, very disappointing wine. Hoping it's an off bottle, but doesn't seem overtly tainted in any way.

An absolutely brilliant white wine at 10 years old. No mature flavors or sign of fading, just layers of resonance from a wine grateful to have been left alone. Yellow apple, dry honey, all that with acidity and structure leading into a long finish.

Used some for cooking; VV'd, refrigerated and revisited a couple of days later. Not the best vintage of Buty's SSM, but still a delicious iterations and a good QPR at~$US20. Tasting a bit more wood than I like and the finish is a bit short. Drink up.

I wanted to like this more. Had a tart, almost salty side which was very appealing but it never really came out of its shell. did it need a decant? hard not to enjoy this though.

As good as before. Gave it 60 minutes of air and drank over 2 hours.
A good Cab/Syrah blend- great fruit, spice, pepper and the right amount of oak.
For the price I paid through Lot18, I owe them money. Very impressed with this wine and another solid 5-6 years left before this wine would peak.

Opened 3 hours prior. Very tight so decanted for an hour but still tight Try a 3 hour decanting next bottle Fruit is medium and spice minimal but enough going on to see the potential. Otherwise no decanting and try to keep it fresh with a 1 hour opening.

Really loved this - another awesome Garagiste Mystery wine. On day one, pop & pour directly from cellar. The Syrah is front and center with the Cab taking a back seat. A plush wine with a bit of structure added by the Cabernet. I will say on day one it seemed a bit flabby - delicious on its own but not sure how well it would stand up to food. On day two, after Vacuvin at room temperature overnight, the Cabernet was more assertive, adding structure compared to the prior day. Enjoyed with beef sukiyaki at our favorite Japanese restaurant - maybe not a classic pairing but it worked for me.

PnP. Light/medium straw, clear throughout. Brighter and more lively than the 2010 bottling - which is to say I prefer this over the latter. Medium-bodied, with aromas and flavors of lemon oil, white pepper, peaches and pears. More deserving of table wine status as opposed to sheer cocktail wine status given its quality of fruit, this nonetheless drops the ball, if only slightly, as it finishes a little hot at the back end, distracting from an otherwise enjoyable experience. Drink thru 2016

Generous nose. Ripe peach, lemon, lemongrass, sea shell. Moderately long finish with floral lift. Unctuous texture reminds me of Viognier, but that's not necessarily bad, especially at $14 a bottle.

Had this at a NYC Chinese restaurant with my wine group. I liked it, but most of my group didn't care for it. I thought it had a palate cleansing acidity, along with notes of green apple. Its very good, but not great. At the price I paid, ($16) it was a QPR winner. Some of my group thought they tasted olives....

I purchased two of these and wish I had bought more. This reminded me so much of an Old World Riesling. Dry, with potentially just a touch of RS. Extremely petrol on the nose, blew off with a little air, but mineral driven the whole time. Did have some fruit, apple, pear, but honestly not a fruit driven wine. Also had a hint of candied ginger. I know the grapes come from a Biodynamic source and I wouldn't be surprised if they had a small amount of Botrytis as well... Drinks like a lower tier Alsatian Grand Cru, but above the village level...

Characteristic Riesling nose of petrol, but the the palate is oddly lacking in fruit - almost watery. I wonder if this bottle is a bad bottle. The leftovers completely oxidized after less than 48 hours in the refrigerator.

Canary yellow color. Nose is intensely starfruit, complete with the sometimes waxy sense of the skin. Hardly any petrol in my bottle, which I’m very pleased about. Still bright but not cloying, with mouthfeel but clearly entering final phases. Still, quite good. Amazing with milk-based curries.

I liked this. It did not have the class or complexity of a German Mosel, but was mouthfilling and ripe, but with lightness and some tension. Maybe a little bitter on the finish., despite the citrus sweetness. Nose was nice, light petrol and citrus. Overall, a nice wine, but clearly at the end of life.

Hazy golden straw color. Nose is thankfully not fusel oil influenced, but definite star fruit and a trace of plastic in nose. Taste is watery at first, but finishes in more star fruit and kiwi. Nothing sweet about this, dry, almost too much so. Lacks acidity and it shows. But an interesting effort that’s not a total petrol mess.
