10/15/2014 - burr wrote: 90 pointsDark purple in color, medium body. Palate-driven wine. Black fruit and flowers on the nose. Palate of back fruit with chocolate, oyster sauce, vegetal notes, coffee grounds, dusty tannins, a bit of herbs and spearmint. I would say it's more 'interesting' than good. Unusually nuanced and savory for Argentine malbec. I can't say I really like it, but it was interesting to drink over the course of several hours. |

11/12/2016 - burr Likes this wine: 94 pointsIncredible wine. Viscous, syrupy in texture. Golden amber in color. Layers of apricot, baked pear, honey, grapefruit, a tinge of tannin and even a bit saline on the finish. A bit on the heavy side, but still with plenty of acid to keep it from getting weighed down. Fantastic. |

3/30/2014 - burr Likes this wine: 90 pointsViscous, syrupy pear and floral notes. Initial (unappealing) petrol nose dissipated and gave way to heady sweet floral nose. Lightly golden in color. I wonder if my bottle had been mishandled a little. It lacked in the expected depth and complexity. |

11/5/2012 - burr wrote: 93 pointsWay younger tasting (and looking) than I expected. Really interesting botritis nose, but dry and light weight on the palate. Very complex and interesting fruit - stone fruits, apples, tropical fruit, loads of mineral. A thoughtful wine, rather than hedonistic; I found myself wanting a little more weight, a little more viscosity, and little more sugar. As the night went on, the wine got better and better (as it got further and further away from dessert). |

3/21/2013 - burr wrote: 90 pointsI need to give this wine another try. It was bone dry and interesting, but I paired it with foods and other wines that overpowered it. This wine needs some space and some focus to enable one to appreciate its subtlety. |

8/29/2013 - burr Likes this wine: 93 pointsReally interesting wine. Took about 8 hours to really open up. Very restrained at first, but as it gained air, its acidity and minerality really came into balance, and the palate really grew in intensity and integration. Pears, pear blossom, minerals, lemon rind, white grapefruit on the palate. Floral, orchard fruit nose. it continued to improve over 24 hours. At room temp, creaminess and minerality came through (baked pears even), when chilled the citrus and acid showed more, with a prominent minerality and rich mouthfeel. A very textural wine, complex on the palate, although the nose remained restrained. Had I popped and poured, I would have given a much lower score... so glad I gave it time. Rich Cali chard fans, this is not your wine. |

6/19/2011 - burr Does not like this wine: 85 pointsmight get better in a few years, as it stands now it's a flabby, fuirty, and over extracted. my friends who don't drink wine loved it, so not bad for the price. |

9/18/2014 - burr Likes this wine: 90 pointsReally nice nose, although palate has definitely started to show its age. Held its own for a couple hours against several classified bottles, but then fell apart. Well worth the price, high QPR for nicely aged bordeaux. |
