Decanted in glass for 30 minutes. Not as sweet as the first bottle I had. I am actually getting a little bit of tart/sour notes coming though. The alcohol is also showing through on this. This is big time new world style and may have actually drank better early on in it's life. This has changed from the first bottle. While it's not as sweet it seems that other things have gone on that are detracting. I will be honest I probably over scored this first time around, it's showing it's price tag this time around.

Decanted this wine for 1 hr. Dark black-purple color. The nose shows blackberry, some blackcurrant, liquorice and pepper. Med-full bodied. On the palate this wine has lots of sweet fruit with just a bit of spice. Nicely balanced and drinking very well. Medium finish.

Decanted for 2hrs. Dense dark purple almost black color. Beautiful slightly sweet aromas of raspberry, cassis, blackberry and liquorice. Full bodied with a complex palate of dark fruit, tobacco and spice, big but very rounded sweet tannins, extremely balanced leading to a very long lush finish. This wine is drinking absolutely beautiful right now. I was weary to open it so early but after reading many reviews on EBob I figured I should give it a try....and glad I did. Everything here is already in sync, how nice to drink a class act Shiraz that isn't a alcohol fruit bomb like many others. No need to wait on this....enjoy! This completely blows away the 05 Mollydooker COL. 95

Decanted for 2 hrs. Dense dark ruby color. Nose of dark fruit and a little pepper. Full bodied palate with big fruit flavors that follow the nose. However I have to agree with the previous TN....this wine is a bit flabby....don't remember that from the previous bottle I had about a year ago. The tannins are fully integrated and like previously mentioned there is almost no acidity to this wine. This wine seems a bit tired.....glad this is my last bottle.....time to drink this one as IMO it's on the decline .

Decanted in glass for 30 minutes. Dark ruby/purple color leads to aromas of vanilla, cherry, and chocolate with some oak in the background. Nice full bodied syrupy flavors of cherry, coffee and raspberry with some spice. Tannins are pretty well integrated, well balanced, drinking nice, not an over the top Ausi. Nice length on the finish. Good drink on it's own.

Just had the 05 tonight with a nice prime Rib. Decanted for 1.5-2 hrs. Super dark purple color, aromas of dark fruit, currant and some pepper. On the palate, lots of fruit, blackberry, black cherry, some nice oak and lots of firm tannins but drinking smoothly, full body.

Decanted for 1 hr. Notes generally the same as my first bottle of this back in July. However there are some definite vanilla oak notes coming into play here on the mid-palate this go around. Good amount of sediment in bottle.

20 minute decant in the glass. Dark purple almost black color that leads to a powerful nose of berries, violet, spice and smoky oak. The palate is full bodied and shows of dark berries, maduro cigar and spice, good acidity and well integrated tannins that lead to a long fruity finish with just a tad of heat showing through. This is open and ready to go. TampaSteve 90

Decanted for 45min. Dark, dark color, basically black w/purple/ruby rim. Big nose of spice and peppered black fruit with a bit of smoke in the background. Full bodied with lots of dark fruit on the palate, but not a fruit-bomb, again there is some nice spice with definite pepper coming through, very nice mouth feel with well integrated smooth tannins, the finish is long. This is a very nicely balanced wine that is drinking quite well right now....recommended by Gary Vaynerchuk....impressed. 92

Decanted for 3.5hrs. The color on this is dark cranberry alomost to the point of black. The nose is filled of blackberry liquor, spice, vanilla and chocolate covered cherries . WOW!!!...the palate on this is explosive, extremely extracted fruit showing blackberry, blueberry, spice and vanilla. The alcohol is apparent on this wine both on the nose and palate and no doubt at a whopping 16.5%. The COL is balanced and surprisingly quite approachable at this early stage of life with no apparent heat or harsh tannins that usually accompany at such a young age. The finish on this goes on forever.
This is a very very dense wine...war paint comes to mind. I have only once before encountered a wine as dense and extracted as this , the 2001 Feudi di San Gregorio Irpinia Serpico also rated way up there as a 98 point Parker. This wine gives the term "over the top" a new meaning, pushing the limits of wine into the grey zone IMO. This by all means falls more into the "fruit cocktail" category. The best analogy I can think of is comparing this to being at a cross road. There is a road in front of you and another to the right and left. The road to the left is wine country, the road to the right is cocktail country and then there is the road that this wine travels which is the road straight down the middle.
I can appreciate this effort and it's potential but also see it going into a realm that takes it into the wine twilight zone. The density alone on this makes it hard to drink more than one glass. My wife and I finished a bottle over a steak dinner and struggled to do so. The alcohol level also shows it's bold face letting you know that you just drank a 16.5% alcohol fruit cocktail. There may be a time and place for this style but to me not one that I would want to frequent. I have found this one of the hardest wines to try to rate. I am giving this a 90?. I use the ? and will explain. While an effort like this is in itself an amazing accomplishment I am not sure exactly where in the wine world it belongs. I think the name is quite appropriate as it is a "CARNIVAL" alright, just not sure for me that it's The Carnival Of Love.

Nice dark sapphire red color, big bright nose of strawberry, smoke and meat, lots of fresh red fruit on the palate, currant, raspberry and strawberry, medium body with silky tannins and lively acidity, the finish goes on and on, this wine has bit of a PN character to it, very, very nice 90.

Decanted for 1 hr, extremely dark almost black color, complex nose of plum, currant, blackberry and cedar box with a slight bit of green pepper hiding in the background, full bodied palate of dark fruit and spicy but subtle oak, great mouth feel, nicely balanced with a solid tannin structure, long fruity finish, you know this is a cab. This has plenty of fruit and tannin structure for cellaring. I would like to come back and taste this again in a few years. 90

Decanted for 30 minutes. Not as red in color as my notes stated first time round, more ruby turning slightly brick on the edge. The nose is currant, blackberry and plum. The medium/full bodied palate is following the nose in jammy flavors with more pronounced plum this time round and a bit of black cherry.. This is nice balanced with very well integrated tannins and a long finish. This one is very nice from entry to mid to finish..90.

I decanted this for 4hrs. Boy has this come around since the last bottle I had. The secondary flavors are starting to show through nicely.....the extended decanting probably also helped. Plenty of mineral and loam with beautiful layers of fruit. It amazes me that this is not a Bordeaux...as I would peg it as such in a blind tasting all day long. This is top notch juice that stands up there with the best of classified growths....a bargain at it's price tag...can't believe that I found some of this still in stock not long ago....glad I have secured some more as this was my last 2001. 95 TampaSteve

Decanted for 2 hrs and drank over the next 2. The color on this wine is dark, dark ruby red. This has a gorgeous complex nose of sweet dark fruit. I picked up lots of currant with plum, blackberry, liquorice, earth, oak, and chocolate. On the palate this full bodied Bordeaux style wine is full of very extracted dark fruit flavors that explode in the mouth. There is some nice spice on the complex mid-palate with some firm but accepting tannins. The mouth feel on this wine is lush and the finish long. This wine drinks as a solid 93 pointer right now with nowhere but upside to some cellaring time. Very, very well done and a complete joy to drink such an incredible wine. 93+

Decanted for 2hrs. Dark inky Ruby color, very complex explosive nose of blackberry, currant, spice, chocolate covered strawberries and meat, full bodied with a palate that is representative of the nose with the addition of sweet berries and black pepper, silky tannins...GORGEOUS!!!....very long finish that turns to blueberry pie. This improved further over the 1.5 hrs that we drank it....drinking very nicely now but surely has upside to aging...TampaSteve 95 points.

Decanted in glass for 1hr. Dark Ruby purple color. A little tight on the nose, some cherry mixed with dark fruit....a little floral aspect going on also. Medium body with a big mid palate of blk currant, blackberry and spice. The tannins are a slight bit gripping but fairly smooth with firm acidity. The finish does drop off pretty fast. The fruit is pure here and I think for an $8 wine it's a good QPR. I don't quite get all the bad ratings on CT??? I don't think there is much here for anything more than some brief short term cellaring. This is a fine everyday wine for the money TS86

Decanted this for 2 hrs, dark candied apple color like you would get at a carnival, nice fragrant nose of dark fruit, the palate follows the nose with black cherry, currant and blackberry along with some spice box, medium body, a bit thin, this is still showing some firm tannins on the mid palate that probably should integrate a bit more with a little time, finish is a bit short but OK. This juice rocks at 8 bones a bottle, is drinkable now and should reward even more for those who want to lay a case or two down for 6 months to a year. I think the previous posters are underrating this. If this is this good at $8 I can't even wait to see what the $30-40 '05 Bordeaux's will taste like. Damn, when I stay at a hotel a bottle of Fiji water is $7. Solid 88 rating here and a crazy BUY.

Tried this fresh out of the bottle and both nose and palate were locked tight. Decanted for 7hrs and retried. Crazy dark black cherry color, nose of cherry, cassis with a slight bit of "Bordeaux terroir" in the background, nice, palate was another story, tannic, very little fruit, disjointed and bitter with a short finish. I rated this an 80 but 2 points were added just for color. This is really a 78 point effort. A disappointing pazzzzzzzzzz even at 7 bones.

Color is bright clear ruby with med intensity. Big florally nose of black fruit with an almost citrus component...pinot noir like....not Bordeaux like at all....very new world. The palate shows flavors that follow the palate ....this is a slight bit unfortunate as that citrus component leads to a greenish edge...again almost pinot like. The finish is med to long. I am not loving this wine...shows a bit disjointed at present. Very new world and non-representative of Bordeaux. In it's present state this is a 86 point wine to me.
