A nose of blackberry, licorice, pencil lead and tobacco lead way to a blackberry and cherry driven palate along with an earthiness that linger pleasantly. Good but ultimately lacking the depth to merit a higher score on this night.

(VINA ALMAVIVA) COLOR-obnoxiously great pitch black, NOSE-huge aromatic, new world; TASTE-BIG WINE, tannins, thick, viscous, massive, new world fruit (dark cherry, blackberry, black currant), but Bordeaux structure. REALLY IMPRESSED, WS-95, GV-93
